After what has been an incredibly rocky start to its career, Street Fighter V finally seems to be rising to the challenge, with the game's servers supposedly in good working order. It's about time, of course, but we're just glad that it's up and running. Hopefully it'll be smooth sailing from here on out.
This isn't just us assuming everything's fine after our late night sessions, either - Capcom's posted an official statement over on its blog. According to the company, the title's network features are now working as intended, but it says it'll be keeping a keen eye on how things hold up over the next few days.
With any luck, this now means that you'll be able to find matches, set up battle lounges, and generally just go about your brawling business without any trouble. Again, we're just praying that it remains in top form for the foreseeable future.
Does everything appear to be faultless for you? Welcome some good news for a change in the comments section below.

For some reason my friend can't play local multiplayer. Pretty strange
Thus we can't share play it.
I'd definitely keep an eye out. It's too early to say online issues are totally gone if you ask me.
It's not working for me right now. 12 minutes trying to find a casual match (slow hand clap for Capcom).
Hey Push Square, you guys should cover KOF 14 and Guilty Gear Revelator sometimes, SF5 isn't the only pseudo 2D fighter of the year.
Holy crap I just found a match!!
@OrangeBagels
I have a similar problem where the arcade mode is nowhere to be found, must be some sort of a bug.
Now with the server problems "they couldn't anticipate" out of the way I wonder what's left for gamingsites to defend their reviewscores of 8s and 9s for a game this barebones. And if I hear Capcom Tour one more time I'm gonna lose it! As if the Capcom tour couldn't be postponed or just feature the game we have now, but unreleased, to make all the naturals stand out. I've been at a preview event like 6 months ago where I played a version that runs just as smooth gameplay wise as it does today, so the rushing for the Capcom Tour is a lame excuse.
What's really up is that they wanted to launch this Fiscal Year for several reasons and Capcom never gave crap about their consumers anyway. Street Fighter isn't just for Pros, it's always been the mainstream's darling and the go to fighter for everyone that started gaming in the 80s and 90s; launching without an arcade mode or any other single player content to speak of is just disrespectful to the millions of fans worldwide.
The game is so good from a mechanical point of view that I didn't even wanna complain, until Ono had the nerve to say on camera that they "could have sold us" the 1-2 hour story mode as DLC...what a Richard move. And the worst part is that the game's yet to show his true colors when the true value of the Fight Money reveals itself and people start realizing they aren't getting 6 additional characters, that are 100% already done and waiting for Capcom to flick a switch, for free.
So first they sell us half a game and tell us we'll get 'free' DLC, which is ofcourse BS considering we paid $60 upfront; the DLC we're getting for "free" was supposed to be in the game! Then they sell us a season pass, cause that's the only way to experience all fighters without investing 600 hours in the game. And to top it off they still have tons of microtransactions for cosmetic stuff
So we'll be spending at least $30 each "season" for years to come for all additional fighters, or settle for less and buy 1 with our Fight Money each year, after we bought a $60 game. But I'm willing to bet the farm that it doesn't end there. I'm positive that "complete editions" will hit the store shelves within 2 years, something they said they wouldn't, but what I truly think will happen is that Capcom will throw away this initial model and will go full f2p after 2 years, claiming its on popular demand.
Haha, yeah. Until this weekend's 'free multiplayer'. Here's hoping PSN stays up.
@Boerewors
Hopefully Capcom puts a gag order on Ono after that idiotic line that he muttered. Many, many people HATE your game right now, fair or not, commonsense would dictate you don't say or do anything to make matters worse but he did with a smile on his face. And some people still wonder why Capcom has to take hand outs from Sony, Nintendo or MS to get anything done these days.
@Gamer83
This is just Inafune all over again, where an artist, a creator, gets more power in a company than is good for him. The days of rockstar devs are over and although it sometimes is a shame because they were funny, the total disregard for their audience's demands is something we can do without.
Ono has been too involved with the creation of the game to see its flaws and people like this forget it's not the pros that make them their money, it's the casual Street Fighter enthusiast. Ono needs Sony to keep him in check at this point just like how Nintendo is constraining Sakurai for example; at the end everyone wins.
Yesterday I read the comparison between SSB and SFV and I couldn't help but laugh. Sure there is DLC in SSB, but not only does the DLC kick ass, the base game we paid $60 for was one of the most chock full, most perfect gaming experiences I've ever had in my life. In terms of content SSB is almost unparalleled and if SFV had that much to offer I would've gladly paid an extra $30 a year for additional content.
I hoped for a KI model, where everyone would be able to play it for free and with a really fair asking price to join every new "season". Over the course of 5 years that still would've netted SFV an insane amount of money because I'm absolutely positive that when you play the game for free 3 rounds, you immediately start throwing your money at the screen. I spoke to several regional Capcom's employees when SFV was first announced and all of them told me this game was gonna be "inclusive", which at the time I found hilarious because they ditched the Xbox. But they assured me that everyone with a PS4 would be able to play the game. So they either changed course, or they are planning to roll out a "seasonal" F2P model after they squeezed some money out of us the traditional way. If they go F2P now they're gonna tell us how happy we all should be: free SFV for everyone means more competition! Mark my words: Ono himself is gonna announce it within 2 years with a grin on his smug face.
@Boerewors capcom fighters have always been bare-bones, there was no reason to expect this to be any different and you can see they will be adding challenges, the shop and other stuff in the coming weeks.
As they say they are teasing it as a fighting platform rather than a singular game that is tossed and said "done"
I will wait now till its discounted in some kind of sales later in the year. Want to see how Tekken stands up against it
@viciousarcanum
Somebody has never played the ports of Alpha 3 on the PS1, Dreamcast, and PSP!
I'll wait for Super Street Fighter V, we all know they will make a sequel that has all the DLC and new characters.
I'll be picking up the game when I get outta work today.
Creating a lobby still isn't working for me. Everything else is cool..
Mmm I am really liking the game and of all things I think I really don't miss arcade! Survival is much more interesting and kinda is an arcade mode...with a twist. You also fight Bison at the end, so...
@Boerewors You need to chill. Ono is not Inafune all over again. Inafune was always a businessman, not a creator. Ono is a creator. Big difference.
Should he have said what he said? Probably not.
Also, Nintendo is in no way "constraining Sakurai". Sakurai is independent, and was given pretty much complete freedom over Smash 4.
How about adding arcade mode with an actual boss and I don't mean bison.
@sub12 wow 1 game
