Few understand what Dreams even is yet, but there's no denying that Media Molecule's pushing boundaries with the PlayStation 4 exclusive. In a Kinda Funny livestream, the British developer showed off a selection of scenes from the upcoming game, including everything from a still life brought to life all the way through to a simple puzzle platformer that was designed on a train.
The studio claims that it's just started work on the release's single player campaign, which it's building entirely using the title's tools. It also re-affirmed virtual reality support, and showed off a handful of 3D printed statues created using the ambitious outing's sculpting features. We're sure that the lack of distinctive "game" on display here will draw many negative comments, but the tech on display truly borders on mind boggling.

Sony is the true industry innovator and it's so refreshing to see them back stuff like Until Dawn, The Tomorrow Children and this.
@DominicanGlory I didn't want to write it in the article for fear of getting shouted at, but I really can't think of another publisher that would back this kind of project.
I'm really excited for this game!
I feel confident this game is going to be something really special. But hard to convince my friends of this until there's some campaign footage to show off. A lot of people have no idea what this game is supposed to be.
Not going to bother watching this on my tablet, but I don't think it's a game, I think it's an excuse to do recreational drugs. That upper left picture looks like Hendrix to me, and that's all I need to know.

For anyone interested, Media Molecule host a livestream every Thursday on Twitch at 17:00 GMT I think, where they show little parts of the game. One I saw the other week showed them making different flowers for this garden scene they were doing. Nothing hugely exciting but if your interested in the tech side of things then it's worth watching.
@get2sammyb knowing that this is a dedicated PLAYSTATION site you'd think people wouldn't get their pitchforks when you gush a little about Sony
At some point I'll probably buy it, will be great with vr headset.
I'm not creative whatsoever so I'm going to pass. That said I'm sure those that are will really enjoy it.
Outstanding. Its like unreal editor for ps4. Except with wands!
Great results during the waterfall scene. The speed and ease of use were very surprising.
In the right hands, this could be a real game changer.
@get2sammyb I think that this project will be great for those people that are very creative. I also think this is a similar way in which future games will be made by smaller studios but obviously using other development kits like UR4 and Unity. I believe that all development kits will all eventually be much more user friendly. Its nice to see Media Molecule getting in a at user level by making it fun and totally user friendly. I just wish we had this 20 years ago as I might be in a very different place now. A big kudos to them.
This proves to even more that this TECH DEMO isn't a game and the single player isn't coming out for who knows how long. I feel this game should have never been shown until a real substantial campaign was already in the works. I have even less interest in this so call game after this demonstration and will not keep a eye on a game not coming out for knows how long from now. I don't want to be a game designer. I want to play a single player game or MP then maybe consider creating levels if the tools are extremely easy to use.
@Ewflex Facepalm... In the stream they told that a singleplayer will be included. If you played any previous media molecule games you know creating and sharing is one of their objectives. It's your own choice what to do. I played most of the little big planet games which also could be seen as a tech demo but they had enjoyable stories see little big planet vita
@WARDIE You hit the nail on the head buddy. This thing has so much potential. Especially for folks who are artists/animators like myself who like things to feel more "traditional" while still utilizing the speed and convenience of digital. I do worry a bit about there being a single player campaign. Just because, as with other Media Molecule games, you have to play through the whole thing just simply to unlock all the components you use for building. Hopefully the sculpting feature will combat that. But for real this thing could replace Maya or 3D Studio Max as the standard for 3D work and animation. I'm a bit surprised that they are making this as a game rather than it's own standalone 3D design program.
@Grawlog Haha, no not at all!
MM sure has a grasp for user created content. I'm getting this.
@Bliquid this is not my point. This game hasn't shown one level you can play without creating something yourself. I want gameplay that was already created by the developers with some sort of story. It feels like all we've seen is how to create levels and not a single player story they created for us. I like little big planet but I rarely spent the time to create a level but played the story already created by developers and by the community. If the developers are trying to make a game you only create your own story it will not be successful
@Grawlog if people never figure out what this game is about before release it want be successful. It needs to choose to be a single player game with emenents of creating levels like LBP or just be a Mario maker clone
I'm really looking forward to this, even if I suspect everything I make will be rubbish because I have no talent when it comes to creating things. The possibilities for VR could be endless
And it's Move controller friendly? If only there was a peripheral that could justify owning Move controllers... ... ...
Can't wait for the dicks & butts user generated levels
@whywai88 That was my first thought too. Obviously I would condemn such childish behaviour.
