So, a little over a week ago, Ben Potter and myself posted the very first Push Square Podcast, which you can listen to here if you haven't already. You guys seemed to like it and the feedback received has been fantastically positive, for which we're incredibly grateful. Mushy stuff aside, the podcast has been formally greenlit by the powers that be, meaning that we're here to stay.
This week we take a look at a feature asking 'Why Do We Treat Games Like A Chore?' along with a hot debate regarding the pricing of indie games and their status within the industry. Our special guest this week is King Sammy Barker, who fills us in on No Man's Sky after getting some time with the mysterious title. In my Indie Bin this week we talk about The Witness and following that we tackle some questions asked by you guys in our forum thread, our newest recurring section.

Thanks for having me on, guys!
As for The Witness maintaining its allure throughout the entire campaign — it does! Amazingly...
I haven't seen it all yet, though, I must admit. My understanding is that even towards the end it's coming up with new ideas and rules.
Another great episode. Muchos gracias.
Why is it called a pocast and what dose that mean.

Good stuff guys.
It's a little late for me here in the US, so I'll see it tomorrow, when it's the 11th here.
Looking forward to it.
Still cant get over how amazing the intro is
@get2sammyb It really does. And as you say, it doesn't let up with new concepts throughout. Well worth seeing through to the end.
Edit: Should probably mention the podcast! I've only been able to listen up to where you're discussing No Man's Sky, but I'll be able to listen to the rest later. Really enjoying it so far
Haha, that was good fun, nice work guys. When's the next one due out?
Also, that is a fun theme tune, you've got there.
Very good, next episode sounds chocka. My chosen method to listen in is to hit the download button from soundcloud so hope it stays.
On No Man's Sky I hope there'll be kind of bookmarking system so we can revisit favourite planets, I imagine we don't have such details yet though...
Didn't know exactly where to post this, this seemed like a good a place as any. For those looking for a Limited Edition No Man's Sky ps4, Best Buy just made them available this morning in the US. I had been looking ALL week and could find it nowhere, so wanted to give all you collectors out there a heads up!!
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi I think we'll be sticking to this method of distribution for all our episodes, it means it covers the most bases for how people can listen. I agree with you, downloading from soundcloud means I can listen on my commute which is largely underground. thanks for listening!
Great show guys! I completely agree on the "indie game" pricing issue. I'm from the camp that thinks a game should be priced more according to what the player gets out of it, rather than if it simply has a major publisher. Games like Galak-Z or Rocket League get so much more enjoyment out of them than some of the larger games that cost more. But as for Crash Bandicoot, they don't need him for the nostalgia, they need him as a mascot. And maybe need is a strong word. Ratchet and Clank may do the trick, but if they don't then Sony wants their "all age appropriate" mascot back.
@WOOKiEKiLL Cheers!! I've heard some truly fantastic things about Ratchet and Clank reboot so there's hope for that 'Mascot' thing there. I don't think a console really needs it - even Master Chief isn't even that important anymore for Xbox. The systems are very well-established and a funky reboot of a golden gem of a title like crash mike do more harm than good. (cough, Spyro)
Just to drone on again about no mans sky, I think a feature of the game that could be great is the ability to name a planet if you're the first person to visit. Could be open to abuse though eh.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi As I understand it, that is actually a feature they've confirmed. It also tells you who discovered the planet first on your travels.
@BenTarrant @Bad-MuthaAdebisi Correct: you can name planets, plants, and even wildlife species. There is a word filter in the game, but it was turned off for the demo.
@get2sammyb Can't wait to give @BenTarrant the coordinates for a planet I discover. He'll arrive and it'll be called Uncharted. He'll land and find every animal and plant is named Play It.
@Batman Please actually do this.
@Quintumply
@Batman I'll burn it to the ground. Screw the robot police.
Just finished listening. Good episode. Wasn't expecting the result of my Crash question, but I'll get on that in the forums. Thanks for answering.
And to clear the confusion, Meister is pronounced may-ster. I actually kinda chuckled at that.
Sweet! Thanks lads! I'll listen in work.
@andrew20 dude what
