Street Fighter V is getting its first big update at some point this month - and we'll be getting all of the details next week, Capcom has revealed. "We will have a major news drop next week on what modes are coming, additional bug fixes and more, so stay tuned!" it teased on its official blog.
Supposedly, March's update will add a ton of new stuff to the game, including the ability to unlock the title's first additional character, Alex. As quoted, fresh modes will also be implemented, along with larger multiplayer lobbies and a spectator option - or at least, we hope so. Following the release's bumpy launch, we imagine that Capcom's had its hands full trying to get everything in working order - so we wouldn't be surprised if specific bits and pieces end up getting pushed back.
In any case, we'll have our fingers crossed that this month's update helps repair the brawler's reputation. Is there anything that you're hoping for in particular? Do you think that an arcade mode could sneak itself in there? Leap over a fireball in the comments section below.

Looking forward to it, I think they are doing something about rage quitters too. I kinda hope they add trophies for lounge matches. I thought it was kinda odd that you can't get the play 10, 50, and 300 matches in battle lounge matches. Whatever I guess. Maybe we can get an arcade mode too.
The most disappointing launch to a game this generation IMO, in part because all of the mechanics are there, but it's still a shell of what it should have been.
Turn it around Capcom, you've been pretty lame for the last two or three years, considering your the third party with the best IP's bar none.
@shonenjump86 They're apparently starting to penalise rage quitters starting now. The blog post mentions that they've already taken LP from a number of players and they'll continue to do it until they've got a proper automated system in place. Hopefully it comes sooner rather than later!
For the question in the article, I doubt we will see a proper arcade mode for sometime, in part because I don't think it was ever planned from the start.....only when people started voicing their concern after launch did they most likely notice. That being said, they can make changes to both the current story mode (difficulty option, 2 round matches) and survival (fix the lame SNK-ish difficulty spikes, perhaps give more options)........a VS CPU option shouldn't be that hard to implement either.
@ShogunRok
Ah, thanks for the info on that.
Also I want to mention, I hope we can get those DLC costumes. I main Chun Li and I like her DLC costume.
I've only got around 180,000 Fight Money so far. Need to start playing the rest of the "Easy" Survival Modes soon.
@shonenjump86 Yeah, her alternate costume is my favorite so far as well but I mainly use Ken or Ryu. Hopefully, they'll bundle the costumes together and price it cheaper like they did with Super Street Fighter 4.
I got a pretty good discount on the game, so I don't regret buying it at launch, but after playing through all the story mode prologues for all the characters and beating Survival on easy with all characters and on normal with a couple it's been sitting on my shelf, waiting for updates. If the fight money prices for characters is accurate then I have managed to accumulate enough for the first two DLC characters and nearly have enough for the third without having to go to a ton of effort, so that's cool and pretty surprising as I figured Capcom would make the in-game currency prices exorbitantly high to flog their season pass. I guess then that the pass is for people who can't even go to the minimal effort needed to unlock a few characters, there no doubt are some out there like that.
Adding meat to a barebones operation.
Hmmm thats interesting because they have already stated the March timeline so whats changed I wonder.
Trading my copy in for now, whilst i enjoyed it, i am without internet for at least two weeks. So I got a great trade in price and i will wait till April/May time, when all is fixed and i have over 200,000 FP accumulated. I can unlock at least two characters when i get it next! Got loads of SP games to keep me occupied until then. Also I have USFIV on my HDD if I am desperate for some SF!
Looking forward to see how Alex plays, as long his CA isn't like Zangeif then I'll be happy. Can't nail that move for the life of me.
@shonenjump86 I main Chun Li too and that costume is amazing - I feel stupid for not preordering and getting lumbersexual ryu as well, since I have been playing everyday since launch.
I have put together around 450k fight money! love the game and excited to see it fulfill it's potential in the future;)
@adf86 they say he's more of a grappler but I am curious too! Love his design and used it as my main in sf3 before they brought Chun back...

Oh. Are they releasing the full game in march. Or is it still a paid beta game ? Not getting on board until they release a finish game.
@WanderingBullet
Yeah, that would be good. Some of those story costumes are pretty cool too, so maybe we can use those in the future as well.
@Feena
Lol, I have that Ryu costume too. Not what I wanted but its what I got for pre ordering at GameStop.
When is this happening?
@Feena Oh wow, that's a lot of Fight Money.
@shonenjump86 Oh yeah, it seems that you can buy those Story Mode costumes (hopefully with Fight Money).

@WanderingBullet @WanderingBullet yes, I've been busy . It seems you can buy story costumes ONLY with fight points, and there won't be an option to buy them with zenny. It makes sense, as they're kind of your unlockables of yore...
@Feena That's good to know. Hopefully the costumes don't require a lot of Fight Money to purchase.
