We all knew confirmation was coming, and now it's official: there's going to be an open Uncharted 4: A Thief's End multiplayer beta this weekend. We've already gone over the details - which you can read through here - but there's one more nice surprise to be shared, at least, if you're not a fan of Sony's premium service.
Naughty Dog wants as many people as possible to play so that it can properly stress test the servers - and in order to maximise the amount of potential players, it's revealed that you won't need a PlayStation Plus subscription to take part.
Provided that the servers actually survive the inevitable onslaught, we don't see much reason to miss out on this relatively short beta. You'll be able to download it from the PlayStation Store starting later today.
Will you be joining in on the grenade-lobbing, roll-spamming, cover-hugging fun this weekend? Pull an unsuspecting foe into the comments section below.

I played the Beta last time it was available and I must admit it looked good but I just didn't find it particularly 'great' or in truth, that much fun. I didn't get to play with friends though which obviously helps. I actually preferred 3's although that maybe down to the greater variety of maps and modes.
I would buy Uncharted 4 regardless of whether it has an MP or not. I can't see myself playing it 'solo' but its another option if friends are online and want to play.
I doubt I will download this beta - mainly because it would require me to delete something to make room for it - something I know I will need to do when my copy of U4 arrives but I have no intention of doing that for a very short term 'beta' that doesn't have a great deal of appeal.
Nice Will certainly give this a go!
Great news for me! If I like the MP I might break down and actually get PS+.
