Right, we hope that you're paying attention, because this is about to get overly complicated. There are two God Eater games coming West this summer: God Eater: Resurrection, and God Eater 2: Rage Burst - and they've both been given confirmed release dates.
Resurrection, which will only be available digitally on PlayStation 4 and Vita, will launch on the 28th June in North America. Meanwhile, Rage Burst will release slightly later, on the 30th August, but there'll be a physical edition on PS4.
As for Europe, we'll be getting both games on that later date - the 30th August - but the twist is that if you buy God Eater 2: Rage Burst, you'll get a free copy of Resurrection. Okay, great.
Bandai Namco hasn't forgotten you Americans, though. In North America, the day one edition of God Eater 2: Rage Burst will come with a download code for Resurrection. Did you get all that? We sure hope so.
Take a look at the brand new trailer that we've embedded, and then try to make sense in the comments section below.

Is this series any good or is Toukiden better?
I don't know anything about this series either..is it a jrpg type game or is it more like those monster Hunter games?looks pretty cool whichever
@Wazeddie22 It's a Monster Hunter type game.
@WanderingBullet ah ok cheers,I'd prefer a proper jrpg but this still looks decent.
Off-topic but this is really cool. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlbY_LGPzYw
@Wazeddie22 No problem, man.
so Europe doesn't get any physical editions?
I was initially excited for this game but that trailer has turned me off completely. I think i'll pick up Toukiden instead.
@viciousarcanum GE2 is going to be a physical release and it comes with a code for Resurrection in the box.
@SasukeTheRipper cheers, vita editions are all digital?
that's a shame :/
@viciousarcanum No. God Eater 2: Rage Burst is going to be a physical release on PS4 AND(!!!) PS Vita.
@SasukeTheRipper
Come again?
The article states physical only for PS4. Are you saying the article is wrong then? Or are you referring to EU rather than NA? Cause I'm in NA.
I am what many would consider to be a Monster Hunter veteran. Over 600 hours under my belt with MH3U and over 400 hours with MH4U. And MH Generations releases this summer. That'll be another 500 hours.
Honestly, I have never found a game of this genre that could hold my interest beside Monster Hunter. They all pale in comparison. Toukiden, Final Fantasy Explorers, Ragnarok Odyssey, Freedom Wars, Soul Sacrifice... all of them mediocre.
God Eater is my last hope of finding a game that can provide a similar experience. But I have high hopes for it.
I want both of these games on both PS4 and Vita. But gosh dang this digital only stuff. My 64gb memcard is full already!
@Bliquid
Really?
Dang. I had heard nothing but good things about God Eater too. Then again, Freedom Wars was supposedly a "great game" but I found it, well, let's just say not up to scratch with my expectations.
I'm still gonna buy these games though, on PS4 and Vita I think.
@Bliquid
At risk of going off topic, did you play MH4U? Maybe you're not a handheld gamer but it played so good on a New3DS XL. And the verticality they introduced was spot on. Also, insect glaive is the funnest weapon I've ever used next to evade lancing. I'm really excited for Generations too. I know I'll be in the forums hunting with fellow members all summer long.
I'm still gonna give God Eater a try. I like how the monsters look more like natural beasts than the Oni of Toukiden (which also put me off immediately- though I am hopeful for Toukiden 2 to be better)
Buy one, get the other. Sounds like a great deal to me. I'll be buying.
@Bliquid
Lol gotchya. I've never had an issue with it at all. Truth be told I'm actually rather fond of the graphics (well, 3D effect included is a big part of that) and analog (always preferred the 3DS analog, not sure how but it seems to be easier to control than say, the Vita sticks for example). Not the C stick but it worked good enough for camera control where it didn't have to be that precise.
But it's definitely starting to show its age. Think this will be its final year. Had a good run though. Definitely my fave handheld I've ever owned.
Anyways though... Here's to hoping for a console MH again. I know I loved MH4U to death but, I have to admit, MH3U was glorious in HD.
EDIT
Also played Freedom Unite on Vita- mapped the left/right to right analog. Much more playable that way. But it's just an old game. I feel like MH didn't really hit its stride until Tri. Although, I still love any MH.
