It's that time again where you lovely people come and get your healthy dose of Ben Potter and myself as we bring you loads of PlayStation happenings, hot discussions, and downright silliness via the Push Square Podcast.
This episode we have a great chat about The Subtleties of the Souls Franchise and why the series leaves such an impression. Our super special guest this week (again) is the wonderful Alex Stinton, who joins us with his swanky new microphone to chat about his Ratchet & Clank review. In my Indie Bin this week we talk about Unepic, the side-scrolling platformer that tries to save itself with a heavy dose of charm and traditional gameplay – listen in to see if it escapes The Bin.
We round off the show, as always, with the great questions asked by you guys in our forum thread. Please note that any questions that were not answered in this episode are going to be answered by us both over the weekend in the forums. We decided it's the least we can do to say thank you for helping us make this podcast work.
I'd like to take this opportunity to say I answered an audience question terribly wrong – I omitted Shadow of the Colossus in my top PlayStation games. That's a disservice to both myself and the listeners and I am sorry.
Don't forget, if you want to see Potter don a moustache and bully me while guiding me through Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, the please check out our I've Never Played... series on the Push Square YouTube channel.

Once again, a great listen.
@Gamer83 Thanks for your support, bud.
Good job guys, and a good podcast! For me, Ratchet is far more fun that the grind of DS3. I love the souls game but after Bloodborne I much prefer the faster pace of action and it has kinda ruined me on the souls games for awhile. In the meantime I will keep playing Ratchet with a huge smile on my face.
@Majic12 I prefer the pace of Bloodborne, too, but if you spec your character in the right way you can play Dark Souls 3 "like" Bloodborne. It's not exactly the same, of course.
Ratchet & Clank is outstanding. I had got burnt out on the series but Insomniac some how made the series feel fresh again.
@get2sammyb yea I have done dex builds in the past installments buy it still doesn't come close to matching the fluidity and aggressiveness of Bloodbornes combat. Guess it spoiled me for now, and I just a little burnt out on the souls series, they have really been pumping them out especially if you add Bloodborne to the mix!
Another great podcast guys.
Looks like I know what the next "I've Never Played" series will be. Shame on you, Potter. R&C was great on PS2.
@DerMeister Allow me to clarify: I have played Ratchet and Clank before (borrowed it/played at friend's house), but never really got into it enough to own any of them.
I understand what they're about and see the appeal, but it's not really for me. Also, it's not even close to being on the same shame-o-scale as having not played Uncharted!
@Batman Yeah, I get ya, at least you tried it.
Seems like a lot of guys never played R&C though, which is a shame. No better time to get into it than now though.
Another great listen - I was particularly amused by the giggling though I am a trifle concerned by the chair situation. Good posture is important. I can't wait for the next one!
@get2sammyb
Why aren't you on the podcast?
Only 5 episodes and already the best playstation podcast on the web =P keep up the good work.
@Rudy_Manchego He really ought to sit comfortably shouldn't he? I can't believe potter kept the giggles in while editing! @nintendomasterr Not a fan of the two Bens? @MindlESsSelf Thanks for your support!
@nintendomasterr I was on the No Man's Sky episode!
Both @Confused_Dude and @BenTarrant have an amazing dynamic, but we're bringing in other staff members when it makes sense, as evidenced by @AlexStinton this week and @Damo on the Dark Souls episode.
