One thoughtful Sony employee has specially modified a DualShock 4 controller for a PlayStation fan with cerebral palsy. Peter Byrne contacted the platform holder after experiencing issues with the touchpad on the PlayStation 4 peripheral. Alex Nawabi, who works for PlayStation's research and development team, spent ten hours coming up with a solution, which disables the touchpad and includes a new button to replace it around the back of the controller.
"I wrote my email," an elated Bryne told News 12 New Jersey. "Then the next day, Alex Nawabi got in contact with me. He sent me a letter and this controller that's now modified especially for me. He said that it's the first time he's ever done something like this. He did more than I ever expected." Hats off all around.

This is what #ForThePlayers really means.
I don't have Cerebral Palsy but I could sure use this controller! Its very aggravating accidentally touching the edge of the touchpad and having a game react. I got rid of my Vita for this very reason. Its not nearly as bad on the DS4, but I would be very happy with a solution like this; or hell, even a "disable touchpad" option on the Playstation 4 OS.
I must admit, I've never accidentally touched the touchpad personally. I do have "small" hands, though, I guess.
What a great thing to do. Props to Mr Nawabi.
Wasn't there a chap who did this kind of thing for ps3 and xbox360 and had Sony and Microsoft try to shut him down ?
They could have made a small edge around the touchpad to prevent it from touching.
Legend!
I've never had a problem with accidently hitting the touch pad and my hands are far from small.
I have felt some feels for this.
Good on Mr. Alex Nawabi!
Also, just in case people were unaware, there is a charity in the UK called Special Effect which does this kind of work for the physically disabled.
