This looks... Alright, doesn't it? The Assassin's Creed movie seems to have been in production since the Stone Age, but it's finally got a trailer ahead of its 2016 release. And y'know what? It looks a lot like Assassin's Creed really. There are some small changes β like the Animus being transformed into a giant robotic arm β but otherwise it feels pretty faithful.
And that sets up some visually interesting scenes. Spain, which is where this story takes place, looks nice in its 15th Century form β and we especially like the final shot where star Michael Fassbender performs an iconic Leap of Faith from atop a towering building. It's all very Assassin's Creed, isn't it? In fact, watching this, we're starting to feel a teensy bit disappointed that there's no game this year.

actually it DOES look alright, might actually keep an eye on this one
It reminds me of the prince of persia movie, in a bad way.
The trailer is pretty good but the music choice is horrible
@MadAussieBloke Yeah, the music choice was a little odd.
@MadAussieBloke
If he doesn't exist, he'll have trouble logging into the animus without a uplay account. PLOTHOLE!
Looks terrible.
As the costumes look pretty bland, I think I'll wait until reviews happen (which of course probably won't be great since it's based on a video game). There's been so many video game movies that have been disappointing and some that have had an entertainment value (Silent Hill and sorry to say that I actually enjoyed Super Mario Bros and Mortal Kombat for it's time...but only for Christopher Lambert), it's hard to decide. I haven't seen Prince Of Persia, only because I heard it was terrible, but it still looks entertaining. Need for Speed was horrible, Alone In The Dark was bad and the Resident Evil let me down completely (what happened to blood and gore in that?). Haven't seen Ratchet And Clank yet, but my kids want to see it. Other than that, the ones I think would be good...if they were given to the right writers and directors would be...Legend Of Zelda (only if Spielberg or James Cameron took the directing approach) and I could see Uncharted (if again, the same directors and the writer's of Indiana Jones). Both of them could work, especially Zelda being like a trilogy set film, as long as they don't make them too family-oriented and add too much comedy...the comedy is what kills them and the cheesy video game sound effects that they add.
No faceless photoshops yet? I must say I'm very disappointed.
Looks pretty terrible to me, can't see this doing well.
Er...I wasn't expecting the Spanish Inquisition.
The talent behind the film is top notch so I hope it works well. Trailer looked solid though no plot details really.
@Feena Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition.
@Cron_13 lol
The rubbish music completely ruins the trailer. Not going near this in case they try repeating that in the film as well, not taking any chances.
@kyleforrester87 @Cron_13 exactly, watching the trailer I was like... Monty Python had a point XD
Actually looked pretty good! Makes me want to actually play it again but the music was terrible.
Looks good, music was good too, they just need to take out the singing.
Has that "made for TV" look, but at the some time it looks better than the 2 Matrix sequels, I still don't know what they were all about.
Certainly not $20 theater worthy, but we'll see it when it hits DVD or streaming.
Why is it that this makes me think of the first Mortal Kombat movie?
will I need the season pass to get the full experience..
Nah, it does look good alright. Agree with the music as well, doesn't fit at all.
When you buy a ticket they probably make you sign up for Uplay before you can watch it.
