You'll be able to admire beefcake BSAA agent Chris Redfield's rippling biceps in full 1080p starting 28th June, as that's when Resident Evil 5 is set to release on the PlayStation 4. The timeframe does come courtesy of the Xbox store page, so we're still awaiting official confirmation for Sony's new-gen system – it's almost certain to be the same, however.
The title's Trophy list went live overnight, with the bundled DLC meaning that the re-release will include a whopping 71 trinkets for you to collect. They're identical to the PlayStation 3 gongs, so be prepared to play through on multiple difficulties, upgrading all of your weapons along the way if you want to score the Platinum.
Will you be hooking up with Sheva and exploring Kijuju again? Watch out for Wesker in the comments section below.

Looking forward to this. Loved Resident Evil 5.
The only thing I like about this game is beefcake Chris... he went straight into my w*nkbank.
@get2sammyb The headline...I can't. XD
In all seriousness though, I'm excited to replay this and net the Platinum Trophy again. Put over 120 hours into this game, loved every minute of it. And compared to RE6, this game is a masterpiece compared to that travesty. Only a few more months until the true masterpiece, RE4, is re-released for the umpteenth time...and I'll gladly buy it for the umpteenth time.
@AyeHaley Oh my!
Sick, can't wait to play this again.
CHRRRRISSSSSS!!!
Always enjoyed Zero Puncutations review of Resi 5:

Cue hours spent trying to shoot a knife out of the sky urgh
I quite enjoyed RE5 but it wasn't a RE game in my opinion. It was much more of an Action game than a horror survival. I really hope they work on the partner AI for playing Solo - because that was terrible!! The amount of times I died because Shieva died by stupidity (like not being able to walk around boxes) was ridiculous. Another issue I had, is that if you give your Partner a better weapon, they insist on using the pistol! In the end I just used Shieva as a pack-horse allowing me to carry more weapons - as long as she had 1 weapon and ammo - everything else was just carrying stuff I had no space for. I carried 4 weapons, with 4 different ammo types so that occupied 8 squares, the other was 'extra' ammo for my most upgraded and most used weapon - all health and extras was carried by Shieva...
This certainly took the Survival element away and having a partner reduced the impact of the Horror too...
Loved Resi 5. Very hard to fault. Liked the African setting and baddies... (Which doesn't make it racist-was it racist that everyone in Resi 4 was white? ((well, apart from that bad ass mini-gun mutha))! The co-op A.I. was decent too. I'll prob snap this one up again for PS4.
I quite enjoyed this game at the time. The lip syncing was bad though.
Why cant Capcom rerelease games I want like Okami or SFIII?
Super co-op game
Gonna hold off as I wouldn't be surprised if there was a physical release bundle of 4,5 and 6.
Everytime I think of Resident Evil 5 anymore, this video is all I can see.

It's just SO gosh darn true!! XD
@Azikira lmao
CHRRRISSSSS!!!!
@KingofSaiyanZ
will it support Move controls like the PS3 version did? if not, I'll skip this one. really tired of new-gen ports dropping features when indies are doing it just fine.
I never played RE5 nor RE6, but I'm a RE fan so I'm getting them. Not sure about RE4 because I have the Wii version and Wii Remote works great for it.
By the way, RE6 remaster was released on 29 March, RE5 remaster will be released on 28 June so RE4 remaster is coming on 28 or 29 September for sure!
RE5 may not be RE enough for some but i found it enjoyable to play. I played it so much, like RE4, that i have no desire to purchase the remastered version to play it again. I played it enough to have several unlimited ammo weapons and did the under 5 hour speed run for the unlimited ammo rpg. Chapters can be selected for replay,"grinding", to upgrade weapons.
.
@NoCode23 I really liked Resident Evil 5, too. I thought it was great.
My favorite PS3 game, yup I'm on it!
Probably one of the last great splitscreen coop game I played with my bro.
@AyeHaley lol. well then...
so I wasn't going to mention it, but since a few people already have, I think Chris is a total hunk! I mean, I love both Sheva and Chris, but there's something about those biceps. (^_^ )
*whew, is it getting hot in here or is it just me?
btw, definitely picking this up day 1.
@get2sammyb
This is one of those games where I have this crazy love it/hate it relationship. On the one hand I think if you take it on its own and try to enjoy it for the crazy action game with silly story that it is, you can have a great time - poor controls aside. I think it's a mark on the RE series though. I wish Capcom would have just created a new IP with new characters.
