Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments is an underrated adventure on the PlayStation 4, so we're really looking forward to its successor Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter. However, while this eleven minute gameplay trailer has all of the intrigue and awkward accents of its predecessor, we're starting to worry that publisher Bigben and developer Frogwares may have bitten off a little more than they can chew.

This video, after all, looks pretty darn rough. The open world aspect is an ambitious step forward for the series, but it's chugging like a Victorian detective with an opium pipe. Moreover, the visual fidelity – which really impressed us last time out – appears to have taken a step backward. Hopefully this is just extremely early footage, but with the release due in June, we're starting to twiddle our waxed 'staches in concern.
