Japan Studio's wacky PlayStation 3 survival horror Siren: Blood Curse may be sightjacking the PlayStation 4 in the near future. The title popped up on the Korean Ratings Board overnight under its Western name – it was dubbed Siren: New Translation in its native Japan and Asia – indicating that some kind of remaster may very well be on the cards.
Despite receiving some really positive reviews, this pseudo-PlayStation 2 remake never really got the attention that it deserved, originally launching as a PlayStation Store exclusive at a time when the PlayStation Network was nowhere near as popular as it is now. Perhaps the platform holder feels that more people should come face-to-face with the Shibito.
If it is being remastered, we'd definitely recommend giving this one a go – especially if you're a fan of old-school survival horror games. The Siren series was, of course, created by Keiichirō Toyama, who had a hand in the original Silent Hill. His team's now busy beavering away on Gravity Rush 2, which is due out later this year.

Blood Curse was one of my favourite games on the PS3. It was as mad as a bucket of frogs, creepy as fook and boat loads of fun. An upgraded PS4 version would be excellent. Maybe not the episodic drip-feed that we got with the PS3 version though.
I've always wanted to play this. I hope it does get remastered.
I really hope this comes to pass. Siren is an often overlooked horror series and had some innovative and inventive ways of exploring the genre. Blood Curse never really got too much press due to it's initial episodic release, but something like this could really help bring it to a new audience.
I remember my Mrs having to leave the room as it frightened her too much lol. It even went so far as to give her nightmares. Might have to invest in this again as I never did complete it
Wow, I hope this heads west! Blood Curse was the first PSN game I ever bought, but I still never finished it due in part to the iffy framerate (when using that extra-sensory ability) and wonky camera.
I had the demo for this back in the day and loved it. I was waiting for the full game to go on sale for literally years before it finally went low enough for me to pull the trigger. I never ended up playing it however because my backlog was already pretty long, and then the PS4 came out.
I'd love to opportunity to pay for it again so it can again sit on my backlog for an ungodly amount of time.
In all seriousness, I'd make sure I did get around to it this time.
Great horror game. If it does come over to the PS4, hopefully they update the controls (or allow customization) because when I originally played it, some of the inputs for certain actions were just awkward.
For me one of the scariest games ever, almost at P.T. level
Yes
A flawed game but overall it's pretty damn good. It's some proper horror and it would be great for more people to recognise it. Also being on PS4 would really help out the sight jacking mechanic.
