We hope that you're in the mood for shootin' some hoops, because NBA 2K16 is dribbling into June's PlayStation Plus selection. And, as previously rumoured, indie darling Gone Home will be joining the basketball sim on PlayStation 4. Not a bad combination, we suppose?
Meanwhile, PlayStation 3 users can look forward to the contrasting offerings of echochrome and episodes 1-12 of Siren: Blood Curse. As for Vita enthusiasts, you're getting PSP title God of War: Chains of Olympus and Little Deviants. All of the above titles are coming to PlayStation Plus on the 7th June.
So, are we happy? Is it another disappointing month for Sony's service, or do you like the look of June's games? As always, try not to riot in the comments section below.

I feel this is a decent selection, just not for me this month.
So now people can stop crying about getting a AAA game as part of PS+.
Interesting new options. I would not want sports games every month, but it is a welcome change. Plus it is a AAA title, which is what everyone has been asking for recently.
I'm very happy with this line up! Also people can't say that ps4 doesn't get AAA/physical games anymore. 3rd month in a row (zombi, tropico and NBA 2K16)
Two decent games by all accounts, not played either as I'm not a big sports gamer and I always figured Gone Home would come to Plus eventually. Will try both!
No interest in NBA but Gone Home is something I have always wanted to play. Good to see more triple A games being included in the selection lately.
NBA? Even in the UK? What is this madness?
Good news if you haven't played Gone Home, I suppose. Otherwise this line-up is only good because it means I get more time to work through my backlog.
So a PSP game and a launch title (with broken online challenges) from a defunct developer for the VITA. And two 8 year old games for the PS3. Wow. Why not make IGC a PS4 only thing already?
If you actually look at what's there, it's a good month I think. But obviously not everyone's a basketball fan, and Gone Home - while fantastic - is an acquired taste.
As for the PS3/Vita stuff, while all of the games included are good (apart from Little Deviants), they really need to consider ditching both systems now and focusing on PS4.
Basketball thats the one with the bat right? Really happy about Gone Home thats saved me a £20 purchase.
Good month, but nothng that I like
Will deffo give Gone Home a play through, but that's it for me this month
oh looks like a few i would like to download
"7th June"
the day AFTER my PS+ runs out and i can't afford to renew it until next month
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!
Not into baseball and haven't played a sports game since madden 92. So I reckon this is a good risk free way of giving a sports game a go, I'm happy with the vita games, something to dig my teeth into when I go kos for 2 weeks in August along with the other games I've been saving for my holiday, tareaway and God of war 1&2 and numerous indie games
Might give Gone Home a go but definitely not the other one. I've got plenty going on anyway with Uncharted 4 and Doom before, I may even finally get into Bloodbourne given its current sale
[insert comment complaining about games and the lack of tea]
Best lineup this year so far, NBA2k16 is actually a pretty big coup, especially in America. And the recent ones have been so good even for someone like me who doesn't watch basketball.
@get2sammyb hey Little Deviants is the only good one here in my opinion ..Shame I bought it with the launch of the Vita so won't be d/l it.Not into NBA at all and not interested in the others on offer..but I'm starting to agree now with the ditching the other systems but I just can't see how they can do it and making it fair for everyone..after all what happens to the guys and girls with only a vita or ps3?
Nothing for me, hate walking Sim's and I hate basketball what a crock of **** I won't even be downloading basketball but I might try the walking sim, though it'll be like every other walking sim i've tried that i've got for free it'll get switched off and deleted in 5 minute's. Worst lineup this year easy personally but I know there's some out there that will enjoy it.
Neither of the PS4 games are really "My thing" - but as always, I'll download them and give them a go, just in case.
@booshy89 It was originally a PSP game if memory serves me correctly, no idea if the PSN version is compatible with the Vita or not, though I'd hope so.
@get2sammyb I dunno, a lot of the titles they've been giving away in recent months are "lesser" first-party published titles, some of which are actually really good games that just didn't get much press first time around, or were too niche to really make an impact. For the stinkers like Little Deviants (which I actually remember quite liking), we get an actual decent game like Siren: Blood Curse; and this mixed bag is fine by me if it means I get to re-play a few really good PSP games on my Vita without having to directly pay for them. I doubt the gesture costs them too much, and I'm all for it as a way to inevitably "wind down" the service on either console - a mixed bag of legacy titles being given a second chance is a better proposal to me than nothing at all.
@get2sammyb Considering that only the ps4 which needs ps+ for online play, I would have to agree with you.
Wow that's surprising imo. With as good as the NBA playoffs have been this year I thought for sure they would've tried to get as many retail sales as possible, honestly shocked we will get it with plus. Great month for me.
Sorry still poor IMO, Basketball not my cup of tea, granted some may like it but no thanx. Gone home has already been home.
This is a great selection IMO - last month it was Tropico kick-starting the return of 'retail' games and this month we have a genuinely top-tier title, and a fairly recent one at that. OK so basketball isn't for everyone but you can't say it's bad value. When PES was included I gave that a wide berth but didn't complain about it as there are plenty of people out there that love it. PS Plus seems to be improving now and even if basketball isn't your kind of game I think this is a good sign of things to come.
Thankfully I'm a (casual) fan of basketball games so I'll definitely try this out at some point. But Gone Home is the one I'll play first, for sure - heard great things about it.
I have been wanting a basketball game for a while be good to get some exercise. Siren Blood Curse thats fine as well not heard of Gone Home.
I was about to purchase NBA2k16 last month for $40 but never did. Great news that I can get it for free. Here, in Canada, this is a huge deal!
If only NBA 2K16 had Michael Jordan in it as a playable character/athlete.
Doesn't like sport game but chain of olympus and gone home is alright.
Awesome. Haven't played a basketball game in years and still haven't played Gone Home. Was hoping for the ex Criterion Golf game, ah well, if it's good fun I'll pay for it! Back to Doom and Overwatch.
Basketball is one of those sports that is better as a videogame for me, so relatively pleased by that, as picked up the 2K14 dirt cheap in Japan a couple of years ago.
Overall not bad, can see why people may be unhappy but personally satisfied with this lot vacross the three consoles. They do need to change things though, drop the vita or ps3 at some point.... I mean, i pretty much have all i want on Vita...
@Churchy "[insert comment complaining about games and the lack of tea]
WAIT THEY ARE OUT OF TEA!!!!!
this is an outrage, i demand the person responsible is made to pay!!!
Oh well nothing for me again this month.... Maybe next month....
For those who aren't interested at all in sports games, this is literally the worst ps4 offering ever. Gone Home is a ~2 hour long garbage walking simulator that's not even worth being free on ps+.
Along with NMS being delayed till August, I'm not sure what to look forward to for ps4 this month.
That's actually a pretty good lineup this month, as there is a fairly recent AAA title on there, albeit it being a sports title.
Not that i will have lots of time for it this month because of exams.
I've heard Gone Home is really good, so i might get it, but i am going into it blindly as i know next to nothing about the game.
Well done Sony! As basketball games go, NBA2k is the best there is by far. Gone Home looks very interesting as well. I am very pleased with their selection this month.
Not a bad selection. I like a sports game every now and then (never buy them since I get bored of them very quickly, and always a year behind with FIFA since I get it from a friend who gives me his copy when the latest one is released) so NBA will be worth a download, even if only for a few days.
As for Gone Home, well, it's not for me at all but I can certainly see the appeal, so I guess that's a good giveaway.
Now, correct if I am wrong, but wasn't Echochrome free on PS+ years ago? I had it on my PS3 and I never buy puzzlers so I must have had it for free.
And does anyone remember when games offered used to be guaranteed scoring above 70% on Metacritic? Looking it up, Little Deviants sits with a disappointing 57...
Actually, now that I think of it, Little Deviants was bundled with my Vita two or three years ago when I bought it. Running out of potential freebies for PS3 and Vita perhaps?
@Johnnycide "Everyone excited about Go Home should take into account the fact that it is literally walking around a house reading about a teenage girl's feelings."
You make that sound like a bad thing...
Don't listen to our friend Johnny, guys - Gone Home is glorious. I genuinely had an emotional response to it.
@get2sammyb Maybe they'll drop PS3/Vita games in favor of PS VR games, so it's more of a "swap", less of a take away? I don't think they can list PS VR games under PS4 games for people who own a PS4 but not a PS VR. Even if PS VR sells extremely well, it won't do 40 mil.
Problem w dropping PS3/Vita - most people likely sign up for a 1 year subscription, so for people like me w/ a PS3 (or Vita) who say spent $50 this past holiday for a 1 year subscription, for Sony to just drop it out of the blue, that's the bad news you've been saying Sony needs to avoid. They'll really need to give a full 1 year notice for people who've recently purchased 1 year subscriptions anymore.
Also, whats the reason? If they drop PS3 and Vita then they need to give more PS4 games, which they don't need to do b/c of pay-to-play on line. I think it's better for them to collect $50 per year from the PS3 and Vita owners who don't have a PS4 yet. A 1 year notice at E3, along with - rpelacing PS3/Vita games w/ PSVR- might work.
But, what about people who have had access on PS3 to ALL the games they've gotten over the past 5 years? Do they no longer get to play those games, or can they still keep playing - if they continue to subscribe - them only no new games? That's something Sony needs to work out themselves and explain well to paying customers.
I'm a happy gamer, NBA and gone home are the kinds of game I'd pick up on a whim in a flash sale.
@get2sammyb "walking around a house reading about a teenage girl's feelings.""
Sounds like Metroid: Other M.
Pretty good line up. I can't wait to shoot hoops and finally get to push the back of the vita on little deviants. Last time I played a NBA game I just gazed at the amazing graphics and watched the AI battle it out. Felt like the real thing. Ring side seats here we come!
I'm happy about nba2k16 for sure. I never complain anyways.
@carlos82 Bought Bloodborne in the sale and absolutely loving it, even though my actual progress is tortuously slow. One of the only times buying a game as a download has had the positive effect of not being able to give up and trade in as soon as I realise I'm not good immediately! May approach DS3 the same way.
Great month! 2 Great games, both Retail (ish) so whats the problem.
Weve had some dire games earlier this year, praise where its due, these are both great PS4 games.
Good month - so pleased with Gone Home.
I've been waiting for a sale on Gone Home, so excited for that. Rest is a little 'meh'....
Biggest month for psplus in the 10 months I've had a ps4. Nba the closest thing to a genuine aaa game in all that time?
Excited about Gone Home. Back when I thought it was a ghost/p.t. style game I looked up the story because I knew I'd never give it a chance (sh*tbag), luckily enough I got distracted halfway through reading it and stuck it on my wishlist on the store when I realised what sort of game it was. NBA should be good for a week or so/saved for when mates come round etc.
@WanderingBullet if you were being sarcastic I'm really sorry. But Michael Jordan is in fact playable, as are a lot of classic teams.
I just bought GoW CoO to complete my Vita GoW collection!!! Scammed!!!
I can't believe it!!! a AAA title and decent looikng indie
Gone Home was on my wishlist, so I'm very pleased (as usual).
Is this the basketball game with the Spike Lee story mode? If so, I might give it a whirl. I'll definitely play Gone Home just to see what the hype was about.PS3 and Vita are looking grim.
@Grawlog I played the first 20 minutes of M. About 3 years ago. It's one of those games that's on my backlog, but so far down my backlog I keep forgetting it's on it. Probably due to all the Wii U and PS3 games on it, Wii games get over looked.
And I wasn't' so much making fun of the game as Sammy and the other guy quiblling over Gone Home, which I don't think I ever heard of before today.
Gone Home and NBA 2K16? Damn, this is a pretty good month.
Yeah, just gone home pays for it this month, nothing much else interests me. Little deviants is trash and I've never enjoyed GoW, it's not even Vita it's PSP.
@Wesker Yup, apparently the ending of the career mode is hilarious.
@get2sammyb Great! I hear that thing goes places... I haven't played a basketball game extensively since the 16 bit days. Pretty much all sports games were good back then...
I've had PS+ since February. In that time there hasn't been a single free game interesting enough to me to even bother downloading
I might get NBA just to enjoy the graphics for 10 minutes.
So two vita God of War games in a row? Is this leading up to an announcement at e3?
I just bought some PSN credit to buy Gone Home... Guess I'll buy Isaac: Afterbirth and Downwell instead Thanks, Sony n_n another 20 saved.
Not sure how to feel. I would never pay for a Sports game but being "free" I might give it a chance. Unless it is like 50GB so it will take forever to download.
My bro is fan of the walking simulators, we played Ethan Carter together, so maybe he will dig Gone Home.
@Mega-Gazz If they don't announce a God of War: Sexy Viking Edition with shirtless-Kratos-with-Nordic-braids&beard figurine I will send death threats to Kotaku.
@stevejcrow I tend to do the same so perhaps I should download it too 😃, I have to decide by tomorrow
@get2sammyb No, they certainly shouldn't "ditch" the Vita with regard to PS Plus offerings. Sony can call it a "legacy system" all it likes, but biggish third party releases are still coming out on the hardware, and it deserves new free games every month like the PS4 gets.
PS3 and Vita offerings are pretty decent, but the PS4 releases are garbage. A basketball game and Gone Home? I probably won't even bother adding those to my library.
The ONE month they decide to bring something AAA, I've already bought it. Going Home, however, I haven't, but will give it a go.
@Ralizah How many people do you think subscribe for the Vita games compared to the PS4 games?
@Neolit not designed around microtransactions at all. I play it almost daily and have never spent anything more than the initial outlay. You earn a good amount of VC just by playing the various modes. Easily my favourite basketball sim and I've pretty much played them all.
I think everyone will agree with this statement. This is a good direction for them to go in since we've been waiting to see more quality titles.
Meh, Sports games aren't my thing. Gone home was an interesting experience but it was anti-climactic.
SPOILER ALERT
SPOILER ALERT
I'm not anti-LGBT+ but the game felt like it was pushing an agenda by the end instead of answering questions, like, what happened to the parents? Would this game have received the same acclaim if it was about a couple of rebellious straight high schoolers in stead. Please don't hate me.
SPOILERS END HERE
@NESguy94 I think it would receive the same acclaim, yes. I found the payoff really touching, and I loved the way they coaxed you into thinking something bad had happened, when it really hadn't. Brilliant game.
@get2sammyb
SPOILER ALERT
I was actually glad for the happy ending (especially when people who are LGBT are at higher risk of suicide). It just wasn't expecting it. I guess that's what makes it clever story-telling. I almost expected a Romeo and Juliet ending.
Why would you advocate for Sony to stop with PS3 and Vita titles for PS+? Are you thinking you'd get "better" PS4 games? Unlikely. The only guarantee is you'd have no PS3 or Vita free game options to try. Maybe not a big deal to you, but I quite like them, thank you.
Bad month for me as I brought Nba 2k16 last month but still gone home never played it so happy on that and the other games for PS3 and vita
Can't wait to play 2K16! Always had my eye on that game, now I'll get to see what it's all about.
@get2sammyb No idea, but it doesn't really matter. For better or for worse, it's still a part of their current gen ecosystem, and as such deserves, at bare minimum, instant game collection support. It makes no sense to further divide their fanbase by effectively pulling PS Plus support for the Vita.
I get moving their franchises off the device to a more profitable platform, but such a petty move would only serve to needlessly anger people and potentially lose money from cancelled PS Plus subscriptions.
PS: Also, I think most people subscribe for the multiplayer, but I know other people like me who also care about getting games each month across both platforms.
Siren Blood Curse? Oh man... How much is a month membership again? XD
Im more happy just to see something different on there than anything.
NBA will be getting a play.
Wierd though, "the back catalogue isnt big enough yet" 😂😂
So excited for Gone Home, been thinking about buying it for ages. As for NBA I had an older version on the PS3 and was complete rubbish at it.
Nothing of interest here for me but there never really is with these free games. Good for casual gamer's I suppose but for me any games that would be of interest, I've already played. Same goes for games with gold on Xbox.
Boom Shaka Laka! (That is what they say in Basketball right?)
Honestly quite surprised that we're getting a fairly new-ish game, will give it a go but I bet it'll take an age to download.
Nothing that interests me this month. But that's fine, lots of games to play at the moment.
The Cavs here I come can't wait to see the finals in real life as well love my bball but haven't own one since 2k12
Well objectively it's good that they seem to have more variety in terms of types of game. Subjectively, I'm not really bothered by any of them.
I did actually get one of the NBA 2K games on PC in 2012 after watching a couple of games (my only ones ever) at the Olympics and really enjoying them. I had no idea what I was doing, sports games are so damn complex. People talk about them as if they're for idiots, but there's so much to do, so much complexity and things to learn and understand.
I have been considering buying Gone Home, so I'm fine with this selection even though I don't care about sport games. And I'm pleased with another God of War title for the Vita.
Time for me to take the Raptors to the next level.
Really? I couldn't find any info about him being playable character a few weeks prior to game's release which is why I totally lost interest in the game. Thanks for the info.
