Kickstarter's proved something of a poisoned chalice for Mighty No. 9 backers, but there's hope that Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will come together quicker and better than its peer. It's already looking alright, with a PC build on the E3 2016 show floor this week. The exploration looks suitably Metroidvania-esque as you'd expect, and while the animations aren't quite up to par yet, the presentation looks pretty good to us.
We assume that this is still quite early, with the Koji Igarashi produced adventure not out for another eight months or so. But it appears to be coming together better than expected, doesn't it? What a pleasant surprise!

Does look pretty good. I just hope the Vita version isn't delayed as is often the case these days.
As a Belmont it was obvious that I have backed this game. I chose both PS4 and Vita digital versions.
Doesn't the music seem a bit too upbeat for a gothic themed game? And not sure I could put with that screechy violin for long!
Looking nice so far. Also, the musical structure is very similar to the famous "Dracula's Castle" from Symphony of the Night, but it has it's own feel to it. Certainly looking forward to this one!
Gameplay looks promising but with how common 2D platformers are these days I really with this game had a more distinct art style. It looks quite generic.
I've been spoiled by games like Ori and the Blind Forest, Shovel Knight, Viewtiful Joe, Alien Hominid, Hollow Knight, Teslagrad, Cuphead, Guacamelee, etc.
@sketchturner If you like Metroidvania type games with distinct art style I highly recommend Dust: An Elysian Tale. It's available on a bunch of platforms including Steam, PSN and XBL.
Wow for nearly a full minute I though that music was pure awesome. Then I changed my mind.
Looks pretty crap at the moment, to be honest.
