If you thought that the so-called "logo movie" was self-indulgent, then get a load of this: Ludens, the skeletal space-explorer said to represent Kojima Productions' "frontier spirit", is getting a slew of action figures. A reminder: this character has nothing to do with Death Stranding or any other game – it's literally the logo for Hideo Kojima's new studio.
Three companies are making the toys: the Good Smile Company's doing a cutesy Nendoroid version; Max Factor's making a 1:12 scale Figma replica; 1000Toys is designing a pricey looking 1:6 scale action figure complete with LED lights. They all look pretty rad in our opinion – but trust Kojima to be working on toys before his studio's even close to shipping its first game.

A revered developer going solo, making something everyone wants based on his name alone that's doing more branding than making a game? All it needs us Kickstarter and I can hate Kojima more than I already dislike him.
Maybe he doesn't want to cave and accept a ton of money from Sony or other big publishers for his new game. Make toys, sell toys, not owe a ton to the big publishing company and keep a modicum of independence. Seems smart.
@BLPs No idea why you hate someone like him? He seems like a driven developer who goes all the way to make best possible games he can. Weird maybe you can't stand driven people who go out of their way to give us good games. Always funny to hear people hate someone who they don't know. Hate is such a waste of energy anyway.
Why though, that's what I want to know.
I'm not interested in buying any of them, but I am curious on the reasons behind Kojima wanting to create figures based on his logo.
It's Kojima, he can do what he wants. Don't know it would concern anyone.
This is really bizarre!I mean who really is going to buy these?I mean seriously,it's different if it was a well known studio famous for chucking out amazing games and even then I can't see anyone buying a figure from the logo, but from a studio that hasn't even got one game out yet?yeah I think Death Stranding looks amazing even though there hasn't even been any gameplay footage but talk about over confidant..
@Wazeddie22 Metal Gear and Kojima fans for a start.
@adf86 sure, maybe but I'm a fan of his work but I wouldn't buy this.but like you said "he can do what he wants"
I'm quite surprised there's a market for a action figure of a logo. I completely respect his work and have happy memories of metal gear.Goodluck to him but it is kinda crazy.
He'll get his own game won't he even if its fan made.
@Flaming_Kaiser Its two things, one direct and one indirect.
Indirectly he influenced someone on my course who wants to be the next Kojima, spouted pretentious crap, hates any game not made by Kojima and bullies people who don't play exclusively on PC.
Directly, I just don't like his games. The political undertones are a little too strong for my liking, and borderline offensive with the stereotyping of an entire power hungry oil hunting nation.
Plus seeing him follow on like Inafune, going solo, releasing a teaser that tells us nothing other than he has a game idea, and then making action figures and films of his companies damn LOGO, is a warning sign.
^ All you can do is laugh at this stuff at this point I guess. SMH
Kojima is just the best!
few haters gonna live on hate for the rest of their life. lol
I want the statue O_O
With the sh*t that Kojima went through at Konami, he could release a photo album of himself naked with the words "I'm the best game dev ever." painted over his body in blood and I'd still think: "Fair enough - he's had it rough recently."
@BLPs You don't happen to work for Konami do you?
Vote Ludens for president 2016: He'll Keep Coming
What happened to the logo being integral to the first game? Anyone else remember that?
Haha, this is amazing. He probably has some kind of weird bet going that he can make the logo of his production company finance his next project. Pure brilliant nonsense!
