Tennis, one of the most popular sports in the world, is sorely underrepresented in the video game space. While there were a flurry of titles on the PlayStation 3, games based upon the popular pastime have dried up harder than Grand Slam trophies in Rafa Nadal's cabinet. But rejoice: the PlayStation 4's finally about to get a tennis title on the end of its racket.
VR Tennis Online has been confirmed for the console courtesy of a PlayStation VR trailer in Japan. The game adopts a more cartoon take on the sport, with a vibrant cast of characters and super moves – but it's sure better than nothing. This one's already available for competing headsets and has drawn solid if unspectacular reviews. We'll take it, ta.

Yes a tennis game!
But the shot selection in the video is terrible, as if you wouldn't smash those high looping lobs.
um, wouldn't it make sense for a VR tennis game to be in first person view? Not that I like FP at all in any game, but if I were going to play a tennis game in VR I'd expect it to make me feel like I was in the game playing. I spent the first few seconds of the video thinking that was my partner and we were playing doubles and I kept waiting for him to let me hit the ball.
Damn, I miss Virtua Tennis. Would happily take an HD update of the original with new character models.
