Pac-Man Championship Edition was a masterpiece. For those that didn't play it, it took the basic rules of Pac-Man, and reformed them into a headache-inducing mess of happy hardcore and bright lights. And now the series is making a comeback on the PlayStation 4 – and bringing even more madness with it.
The sequel – which is due out in September – appears to have the same quick-paced loop as its predecessor, but its upping the insanity to the Nth degree, adding giant voxel-based ghosts and other new mechanics. Wakka wakka wakka wakka wakka wakka wakka wakka wakka wakka wakka wakka wakka wakka.

HYPE!
Props to Bandai Namco for all of the crazy additions to the Championship series. Love the first game.
News of the week! Been playing Pacman and 256 and had tons of fun with both. But CE was the best (with easy achievements too)
Cool can't wait I was hoping for the first game but this even better.
And why not Vita, may I ask? Even the original Championship Edition DX would've been awesome on that OLED screen!
Guess I'll have to make do with the regular PSP 'minis' Championship Edition. Still plays and looks like new, mind. And at £3.49, last time I checked, I'd highly recommend Vita owners pick it up.
This looks like it was made by Jeff Minter on an acid trip. Awesome!
Pac-man is my favourite of the old arcade games, and CE was great. Really glad this will be returning.
Now if this game lacks a Vita release, then I can see remote play sessions been worth my time.
@xxAcesHighxx Maybe it will come to Vita? Pester @GioCorsi about it on Twitter, he's the guy that would be able to make it happen.
Oh, it's a new game? Confused it with Pac-Man CE DX. Now I'm interested.
This looks great! 256 is good but Championship Edition was easily the best modern Pac-Man game. A sequel is more than welcome
first day buy
Rumour has it this might hit the PS3 and Wii U as well.
The Wakka-ing intensifies.
