Sony's still very much prone to bloopers as well, as it mucked up its messaging on PlayStation VR controller support this week. Those of you with sharp memories may recall the statement that it sent to Eurogamer.net, stressing that all virtual reality games will support the DualShock 4. Apparently that's not quite the case – it's just a vast majority of them.
"Nearly all PlayStation VR titles will support DualShock 4 controllers, and several games will deliver an enhanced experience that further immerses gamers with the use of peripherals such as Move or the recently announced Aim controller," it told The Verge. "There will be a limited number of titles that require Move controllers."
We suppose the good news about this is that developers who are adamant they want to build experiences around motion controls will have the opportunity to do so, but let's be honest: DualShock 4 support is going to be a mandate if studios want to ensure maximum reach for their games, as not everyone that buys PlayStation VR will necessarily have a couple of wands lying around.

I think this is going to hurt their sales as the headset is already quite expensive. For people that already have a camera the bundle doesn't make sense, so they'll have to buy Move controllers separately now.
@glassmusic Or just avoid the couple of games that require Move?
@get2sammyb You know how entitled gamers can be.
I bought 2 Move controllers from CEX the other day for £20. It's hardly a ridiculous expense. I get that some people won't want to shell out any more than necessary, but still, as a working man that's a minor expense for me.
I genuinely can't wait to play Hustle Kings with Move more than anything else on VR at the moment. It'll be like going to the pub but in my pj's!
I'm anticipating another package that comes with the camera, move controllers and the pink sex toy gun thing. Like an ultimate VR package or whatever.
Personally I would never buy a Move controller (or anything else with a rechargeable built in battery) second hand. Rechargeable batteries are not capable of lasting infinite charges and you do need to look after them well - recharge for a long time on purchase, let run done low before recharging etc. If they haven't been well looked after - even if the outside looks clean etc, the battery inside can be virtually useless - not hold its charge well, not recharge properly, not last long on a charge etc.
Whilst Move was OK on PS3 with certain games, I don't think it has the precision and hope that 'lag' doesn't affect games either. I can't recall it being 100% precise and virtually no input lag - fine for a dance/party game but will it be good enough for VR? time will tell.
@AhabSpampurse I don't understand the complaints. If someone has enough disposable income to throw $400 at an (unproven) new tech toy as an early adopter, what is an extra $20-$40? If they don't, if they had to save up for months to be able to swallow the $400 cost, they should probably not be investing in early adopter tech right now. Gaming is not a cheap hobby, and if you cannot afford a one time cost of $20-$40 for a couple controllers, you should probably find a different hobby.
@thedevilsjester that 'can't pay don't play' strategy isn't growing the HTC vive or occulus sector is it? Word of mouth is a powerful medium and if a mate can show off his gadgets it usually creates a good buzz. Affordable prices can increase adoption faster... and with faster adoption comes more and more games! As a gamer I'd love all of us to be able to afford that extra bit of fun! Now none of my mates own a vive or occulus cos it's too darn expensive and none of us are rich or have spare money to waste. Power and affordability to the masses!! Plus money saved means a nice weekend out and meals with buddies lol.
@bbq_boy Its not so much of a "can't pay, don't play" as its a "if a 5-10% extra on the top of the cost of the device, has you up in arms, you probably shouldn't be an early adopter."
@BowTiesAreCool im waiting to.play dome tennis in my pants
