Ubisoft just couldn't do it. The publisher said that it was giving Assassin's Creed a rest this year, but it hasn't been able to resist readying remaster Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection, which leaked a little earlier in the month. As anticipated, the package will include Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, and Assassin's Creed Revelations, and will allegedly launch in Novemeber.
And here's your first look at what we assume will turn out to be the box art. It's leaked on a French website, with the source speculating that all three titles will run in 1080p at 60 frames-per-second, and will feature touched up visuals and all DLC expansions. There'll also apparently be a couple of animated movies thrown in focusing on Italian stallion, Ezio Auditore.
If it's going to retail at a reasonable price, then this sounds like a solid collection; Ezio is easily the best character in the Assassin's Creed universe thus far. The problem is that there are already three entries in this series on the PS4, and you can bet your bottom dollar that they'll play better than these PS3 classics – it's not a series that ages well due to annual iteration.

i can imagine how this collection came to be
Ubisoft CO: Quick the Assassins Creed series is going down the pan what can we do?"
Developer: "why not re-release Ezios games, the only AC games that people actually liked before we effed it up"
UCO: "THAT'S IT!, your a genius "
If there was ever a series that needed to take a year off, and then take every year off after that, it's Assassin's Creed.
My favourite part of 2016 is where AC managed to release 4 games and a movie in the same year it was supposed to take a rest.
They now just need Easter eggs in watch_dogs 2 that put the two series into the same universe...
I disagree with the '' it's not a series that ages well due to annual iteration''. This trilogy the by the the best games even from a gameplay perspective. Sure, Syndicate is the best but for many reason, the combat system especially, i think that these 3 games were on top of let's say AC3, Black Flag and off course Unity.
This is one of the very few series of games that I would always buy. The visuals in all the games have always stood out jumping, clmbing and running around the cities even if you are not doing very much is always a lot of fun.
I saw it on playasia.com
This is happening for two reasons. 1, the movie is out Dec. Two, there is a revenue gap in their annual forecasts and they need to plug it.
I would rather have a PS4 version of AC Rogue.
I'll probably just get Brotherhood and Revelations for cheap on PS3.
I dunno about any AC remaster to be honest. There's already three ACs this gen, and while ACII is good and I don't think the series is bad, AC is one of those series that defines "played one, played them all".
I'm down with this. Ezio is my favorite Assassin and my favorite titles in the series are II and Brotherhood.
Hope they remaster I and III. That way we can have the entire saga on PS4. For anyone who wants it, anyway.
@Mega-Gazz they did that with Watch Dogs 1, mate
Yay remaster. I never opened the AC II copy I paid $15 for. Would open it before even thinking of getting this.
It's very nice to see this is confirmed now. I know the series is very controversial, but I heard these three entries were great and I never played them... plus I actually really liked Black Flag and Syndicate. III and Unity were only decent to me, though. I'll definitely be picking this up as long as it is no more than $40.
@wiggleronacid If you've never played them then absolutely check these out. They'll feel a little antiquated by comparison of course, but the core gameplay is still very similar. AC2 had the best main character and storyline of any AC game by a million miles. In fact that was the last game in the series where I actually felt like a proper assassin, rather than just a freedom fighter. All the Italian locations are wonderfully realized, and the soundtrack is fantastic.
However, I played this trilogy to death the first time around so don't think I'll be picking it up, personally. But yeah, great games back in the day, especially AC2. No game since as come close, IMO.
I thought that the last AC game (Syndicate) was superb. It's cool to hate on good video games though.
@Mega-Gazz Boy do I have good news for you!
I dunno...I'll probably pick it up on sale. i was a hardcore fan of AC until around Black Flag...great game but it stopped being what made me love those first games. And we don't speak of Unity...
