Ubisoft's new open-world skiing, snowboarding, and gliding title Steep has today been given an official release date of 2nd December. Initially believed to be set solely in the Alps, the company has also revealed that the game is set to expand following its launch.
While Alaskan slopes will be a free addition as part of a post-launch update, Ubisoft has also revealed a Season Pass will be available, which will accompany the $79.99 Gold Edition of the game. What that will equate to in British Pounds is anyone's guess at this point, although it's unlikely to be a forgiving translation. Steep by name, steep by nature...
A beta for the game will also be available at some point later this year. You can register over on the game's website.

I want to be excited for this game but something about it just feels hollow. Like SSX stripped of its soul.
Open world? Sigh.
And, the fact they haven't yet specified if it has an offline single player campaign, probably means it doesn't have an offline single player campaign.
@JaxonH At the :23 mark, all I could think was "open air adventure". Could still use a hot air balloon though, at some point I'll need to go up, or at least drift peacefully forward w/o fear of falling, or descending too rapidly. I want to fly and soar.
I really hope i can get this, but it depends on what discount it gets in the PSN January Sales or the Easter Sales. Also, i was planning on getting Watch Dogs 2 for christmas. Do i really want two games from the same publisher?
@Kidfried me too. This was one of my games of e3 so hoping its good!
Looks a ton of fun - please don't be another Shawn White, that game was terrible.
