As reported earlier today, folders are finally coming to the PlayStation 4 as part of the impending firmware update v4.00 – but how do they look? Well, the Japanese PlayStation Blog has released some screenshots showing off the new system software, and embedded above you can see the oft-request organisation feature in action. Looks tidy, no?
Other improvements include the new Quick Menu, which will only take up half of the screen. Again, you can see that in action courtesy of the screenshot above. This will be fully customisable, so you can prioritise the easy access features that you need – like Communities or Parties.

Not bothered at all about folders, interface looks a bit cleaner though and I like the new quick menu.
(It'll take a while for me to learn Japanese mind you but change is good I guess)
@kyleforrester87
@get2sammyb It happens with every update, they can't seem to just fix certain things without messing other stuff up that worked fine as it was. Crazy.
Was just about to post in the original article saying I hope it's done like the TV folder on the current OS, so happy with this. Will we have to create folders for all games or will they still come up in the original side scroll menu? Doesn't seem to show any games in the screenshot.
Happy with folders, now custom backdrops (not profile pic). I will never be satisfied!!!
...and deletable trophies so I can give PP games a go without the annoyance of them ruining my completion average. First world problems.
Cool! Now alle I need is the ability to delete old demos and stuff from the exsisting game folder...
I've never been that bothered about getting folders in the past but now think I'll appreciate it more than I thought I would.
@BrettAwesome you and me both.
1) setup an unplayed games folder
2) setup a never going to play again folder
3) setup a played and may play again folder
3) setup a playing folder
Boom done. Thanks Sony that will be £56,000 please.

Unclear: if games in your library are in a folder and you launch one, does the whole folder get sorted left? Or is there a pre-defined "recent games" folder?
Best. Update. Yet.
Finally with Folder & the drawer style quick menu looks really nice.
NICE. So ready to organize all those demos and everything else into their "graveyard folder".
A+
Sweetness looking better and better!!!
