No Man's Sky is one of the fastest selling PlayStation 4 games to date, but it does have some serious technical issues – or, at least, it did. Hello Games has released a new patch – v1.04 for those keeping count – this week, which promises "improved stability and lots more". Not the most detailed patch notes ever, but there you go.
We've had the game crash on us a handful of times since launch, and while it's too early to say whether this update solves that, things have been smooth since we installed it. Either way, founder Sean Murray insists that the studio's focus is on tidying up the core release for now. "We're totally focused on customer support right now," he said. "Then we'll move onto improving and adding features to the game."

It hasn't changed a thing for me. If anything the game is worse. Had three crashes in 6 hours of gameplay with the 1.04 patch installed. Also, all buildings and structures on planets are now floating on approach. Oh, and some wicked framerate drops when up-close mining.

I'm taking a bit of a break with this game now, it's at its best when you play it slowly and spend a lot of time on the planets, but the more you play the more you start rushing. Definitely will be jumping into it periodically though, cant wait to see what cool updates they release.
In terms of performance I've had a few crashes but generally nothing major, fortunately.
I have one crash a couple of days ago, thankfully I only lost about 3 minutes of gameplay, the whole ps4 freeze but when I eject the disk ps4 unfreeze and I can start the game again and play for hours. Weird.
By the Beard of Sean Murray, a patch!
Took a break last sunday and will return when they have given this game a stable quality level. Still can't understand how you can release a game with so many crashes. A crash can happen once, but not 4-6 times a day. When we have it on our PS4, they should have it on their PS4 also.
Played for about 4 hours last night without a single crash! Seemed like the textures draw distance has been improved (when flying low & slow) but after reading the above comments Im going see how it behaves over the weekend.
Have not had any crashes at all yet, or any other issues. Must be lucky I suppose. About 20 hours in so far. My biggest snag is not being able to find the last animal on a planet. Looked everywhere, with no joy. That will cost me 250 units damn it.
I've lost count of how many crashes I've had since I got the game but after this patch I've had only two crashes, I say that like it's a good thing (surely it can't be good for the PS4?) but it is definitely an improvement.
LOVING this game, and i agree that it is more enjoyable ayed at a slower pace. Once you get in a routine of hopping in and out of the ship from marker to marker you wont stop, lol. Currently upgrading my exo suit and jist biught a ship with 32 slots and am still fully engrossed. GOTY for me so far.
I had 8 crashes in a row last night, I believe it was due to the planet I was on, once I decided to leave the planet I was free from the crashes, I used too get three in a row so I was mighty peed off with it last night, still, least the planet I was on wasn't that interesting so I didn't miss out on much.
I've never seen a crash and I've been playing for around 20 hours so no difference for me
I've had like one crash since launch day. Bar suddenly appearing in space earlier today at a press of R1, no other major issues at all. Loving the game! Too many people jumping on the slightest niggle with this game.
No crashes but oO my the frame rate is so messed up!! When I'm mining or fighting in space the stuttering is so bad. 😢😱😔
I had 3 in 2 hours. Hope they fix it soon.
