You won't need a PlayStation Plus subscription to give Battlefield 1 a spin this week. The free beta's set to deploy on 31st August for everyone, with Battlefield Insider members unlocking early access as we type. And with the server stress test imminent, EA has tweeted out that you won't need an active subscription in order to enjoy the pre-release sampler.
It's hardly a big surprise as Titanfall 2 adopted the same policy, but it should please those of you without an active membership. Keep your eyes on the site throughout the week as we'll have plenty of Battlefield 1 coverage once the beta goes live.

Will be the first Battlefield game I try, can't wait to play it but because I was always into COD multiplayer (free for all and Team Deathmatch) I wonder if I'll be able to get into it.
Awesome. I asked about this in the forums. Also, will be my first Battlefield game.
You will get into it fine maybe even convert you from COD
@Wazeddie22 If you dont play it like you play CoD, you'll love it. My bro tried BF once, didnt like it as he couldnt commando knife, quickscope, no perks etc. Plays very different
Never played a Battlefield game. I might give this a try.
@Wazeddie22 It's definitely different, and you may not like it at first. For example, my first experience was spending 2 minutes going from one end of the battlefield to the other, only to get shot in the back and have to start over. There can be A LOT of downtime where you're just traveling, doing nothing. That's why it's best to play with friends or at least be in a squad so that you can respawn on eachother and form an attack plan. Some of the best multiplayer moments I've experienced are from this series (thanks to vehicles and destructibility), so I'd recommend you play for several hours before making up your mind! Have fun!
never could get into battlefield. Will try this one also but not holding out much hope.
@kupo @SuperSilverback Ta for the tips,I used to play cod with a group from work on the 360 years ago so never bothered with battlefield although my nephew used to enjoy it and told me a few differences compared to Call Of Dutys,so didant really appeal to me but after seeing that amazing trailer I have to try this game!Of course I always give things a fair go before deciding so I'll be on it a few hours at least before deciding whether it's for me.
So,just to get this straight,I go into Battlefield 1 NOT thinking it's Call Of Duty?ok got it,I'm ready
Well already downloading it... shame for my third world internet connection...
@Mr_Alejo where is it in the store? I can not find it
@dryrain battlefield insider!!
I skipped it at Gamescom as it looks a little boring but I'll give it a shot.
Can't wait to get home from work and play(my kids keep messaging me telling me they are playing already)...so many amazing moments when playing BF multiplayer that you just don't see in COD and BF1 I think will have even more of those moments
Will certainly try really excited about it.
Not looking forward to this game the few vid's i've seen give me the impression it's far to fast for a BF game, look's to much like BFH the guy's move 100 mile's an hour and jump through window's like ninja's. I will prob try the beta before I totaly right it off. My prediction atm is people will just stick with BF4 again, hope i'm wrong and it's a great game but I doubt it.
I was a little bit worried about it being too quick after watching videos especially given that things in bf1 should be slower paced...but if anything, according to my kids,it feels a little slower than bf4
@teknium_ Really? That does sound promising at least.
Yep...confirmed it myself too, does feel a little slower than bf4 and it plays really well in fact the way bf1 handles is spot on ,not sure why it looked so fast in some of the videos
