Fresh from the news that PlayStation Plus will cost a little more in North America starting 22nd September, Sony has told Game Reactor that it has no plans to increase the subscription's price here in Europe. The platform holder did, however, alter the price of the quarterly and monthly payment tiers last August, so it's already technically gone up in the Old World.
Plans can, of course, change, so this is far from a guarantee that the price of PlayStation Plus will remain the same indefinitely here in Europe. It's not something that you should be worrying about until the Japanese giant announces otherwise, though.

The number of total sales in EU is greater than in the US, but for the first time something that don't make us pay for the US market...
That's amazing, time for some bucks fizz and custard creams.
Is that all of Europe or will the UK be treated differently due to voting out of the EU and the subsequent poor pound. If so it'll be another reason for me to hate on the Brexiteers 😀
20 dollar price hike in Canada is ridiculous ....i guess I have to stock up on ps4 plus before this date
@MinerWilly the Uk is still in the EU it won't be out of the EU for a few years yet.
Oh, so it's just the US and Canada? That's good to know. Meanwhile, I got a spare card waiting in the wings...if I see another card with the old price tag later down the road, I'll grab that too, get myself a little stockpile...gotta wait until after I'm done paying off my credit card, though...
Yeah, because EU price increased last year: https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2015/08/sony_promises_unparalleled_playstation_plus_experience_as_market_conditions_push_up_prices
They increased the price not that long ago, so this isn't a surprise, just hope it doesn't go up in the future.
@rjejr
Sony only increased the price on North America? You surely can find a way to blame Reggie for this.
I'm so happy! I get to pay $20 in Canada and my one year expires just in time for the customary PSN Christmas down time. What am I paying the extra for exactly? Some free games I'll never play or maybe OS features rolled out at a glacial pace.
I'm considering cancelling my + membership at the moment if a price increase should happen that would cement my decision. I rarely play online and the 'free' games have been pretty poor offerings compared to a couple of years ago
@banacheck that's true bana but the pound is now worth much less as a result .
@sinalefa Reggie is too busy laughing at all the NX speculation to even stop to breathe, much less make a decision.
Good.
what Sony should do is when the nxt PS console come out then should the price of the plus go up.
An plus why should they raise the price cause they made millions on the consoles already...... Greed I tell ya Greed
