Rocket League's appeal has always been its purity, but with the core mechanics mastered, there's always room for a bit of madness. Rumble, which will be added for free in September, is a brand new mode which will bring a bit of chaos to the core formula in the form of power-ups. These include the ability to freeze the ball, grapple it, or even punch it.
It'll be available as an online playlist in September, and will be an option in Exhibition and Private matches. It's all part of a bigger update that developer Psyonix has planned for next month, and it will outline all of the details in the coming days and weeks. In the meantime, check out the Rumble trailer above.

I lost interest after getting the Platinum. That said it's nice to see Psyonix still supporting the game. It's one of the best if not the best PS+ games to come out on PS4.
YES!! I AM SO READY FOR THIS!
I love this game! I'm not usually one for multiplayer focused games but I still play it regularly a year later. I can't wait to try this mode.
I'm playing Rocket League a bit less these days, but this looks like it'll definitely be worth a few games. I can imagine this will be hilarious with friends!
loving all this free dlc, great game, great developers
Aw man, just when I was starting to play RL a little less often. Damn you, Psyonix. This looks fantastic.
I was going to put RL on the backburner after Tomorrows tournament. I wont be able to do that now!
Definitely not a "PS4" exclusive at this point, unneeded in the title.
So much support going on Rocket League and free! Sweetness!
