A subset of PlayStation Plus members were outraged recently when Retro/Grade was given away as a free game. The decent PlayStation 3 rhythm release was offered at launch in Europe, prompting irritation from members who felt that they weren't getting the most from their subscription. Sony has now apologised for this oversight, and made Tom Clancy's EndWar available in the Old World as well.
"We are aware that [Retro/Grade] was previously made available as part of the service in 2012 and had not intended to offer it again," said a Sony spokesperson of the blunder. "We have now looked into and addressed this issue to ensure that it does not happen in the future." We're currently not sure whether this extra will extend to Americans as well, but we'll update when we learn more.

Fairplay!
Did you have to have a membership from 2012 to get the game or is it for everyone with PS Plus?
That's decent of them,I wasn't a member until 2 and a half years ago so I never d/l Retro/Grade the first time and I'm sure now it's in my backlog I won't play it anyway and probably the same goes for this one, although it looks like a far better game
Cool, better late than never
@dryrain I didn't have an active membership back then but it downloaded to my ps3s fine.
Not playable on ps4
thanks @Drawfull
It's not just that the error was made, it's that when people complained about it they didn't handle it very well. The silence made people think they were just being ignored in the hope that eventually they'd lose interest and forget about it, and allegedly emails being returned by their customer service essentially said "yes, but some people won't have been members back then and might still enjoy the game" which basically translates into telling the most loyal subscribers "this game isn't for you! Why would we give a damn about you?"
Anyway, I'm glad it's finally been properly addressed. Water under the bridge. Now hopefully the Sony blog staff can use Twitter again without too much hassle.
The game is deeply average, by the way, but it's the thought that counts.
@dryrain you had to have an active membership. Like all PS+ titles you must be active and "claim" it before it falls out of rotation, otherwise you wont get it.
A subset? Everybody is upset when PS+ games are announced.
