So, the PlayStation 4 Slim has leaked. Sony's yet to make a comment on these images just yet, but the sheer number of them taken from different angles suggests that they're almost certainly real β although nothing's legit until you hear it directly from the horse's mouth. That said, we have been in contact with someone who purports to have purchased one of the systems, and he sent us a batch of comparison images.
You can see from the pictures that the new console is slightly shorter in both depth and width, but the biggest difference can be observed in its height. While the sandwich structure of the original model used matching layers, the purported PS4 Slim saves a lot of space by employing a much thinner top panel. That makes the current unit much taller in comparison. Anyway, check out the video, and we'll update you as soon as we learn more.

It's not really all that much smaller, but.....the PS4 was already pretty compact. Like the matte-ish finish.
Kind of pointless, it can't be more than 10% smaller...
I can't wait for this September conference to see what the heck Sony is doing. A ps4 slim and neo out around the same time does seem pointless. The original ps4 is small already so why make a slim?
So glad I bought a launch model.
I like my long shiny light and touch sensitive buttons
@EWolf med too. And the gloss part. I'm gettin' me a neo, but I aint lettin' go of the original π
@BrettAwesome Eggsactly.
I wish it was a PS4 neo π
@goonow Don't worry, it's coming
I'm not sure about the need for this. I'm kinda interested in the PSVR unit but it looks hella bulky. I'm also interested in the 4K model. What I'd really like is to see the 4K model have the same physical footprint as the original PS4 but not need the bulky VR box...
Do not worry if you have the old PS4. Size is not everything its how you use the machine. Sony has always released smaller more power efficient machines in every generation.
Mad bringing this out now with neo around the corner.
I feel like this is fake. After seeing the fake 3D-printed NX controller, I swear I can see some uneven spray paint areas on the body of the console. I will stand corrected if Sony announce it officially though.
@goonow I'll be glad its not the Neo!! It looks very ugly so I hope Sony has spent their design money on the Neo - maybe to entice people to buy that instead!
Looks like the slim is missing an Optical out as well...
For me the original consoles that Sony brings out always look the best for all the generations. The last verrsion of the PS3 looked truly awful and had the top loading.
It's not much smaller and anyway I'm not convinced this is going to run cooler. If I'm going to upgrade then will be the neo. This seems pointless to me.
I don't get why people would care about its size and looks. I'm a gamer. I want to play bad ass games. If someone came out with a 3 foot tall 3 foot wide ugly as hell gaming machine, that was more powerful and played the best games, I would buy that one.
