October looks to be a really solid month for PlayStation Plus. Sony has revealed that subscribers will be getting Resident Evil and Transformers: Devastation on PlayStation 4 - that's two great games right off the bat for the current-gen console.
Elsewhere, the Vita selection includes interesting indie Actual Sunlight and terribly named visual novel Code: Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~. Meanwhile, the ageing PlayStation 3 will have to settle for Mad Riders and From Dust.

Brilliant line-up - very happy to revisit Resident Evil and been wanting to try out that Transformers game. The Vita titles sound decent too - not so fussed about the PS3 titles but I'm still playing through Yakuza 4 and 5 so no problems there. Very happy.
Wow, nice.
I've got both of them, so..that kinda sucks.
But both are great games. Transformers is AWESOME. I'm gunna play it tonight. Make sure you're Bumblebee and use his special where you go between the enemies legs
Huh, that's actually really good. I'll definitely download Transformers, have been interested by that for a while.
@kyleforrester87 same i have both of the ps4 offerings so nothing for me. still nice lineup overall.
O. M. G. Its the first time im both games that I don't already own! Actually excited!
Wait Sony is actually giving us good games? Definitely downloading both games!
Great games. I bought Transformers awhile back when it was on sale, however I don't have RE on PS4. Might start that to get into the Halloween mood here.
I have the platinum trophy on Resident Evil so I have played it to death. Transformers and Code are good for me. Unfortunately I have Actual Sunlight and it is very good, highly recommended.
Good selection though was thought Transformers was pants apart from the art style and combat...
Last few months PS PLUS offerings has improved significantly. Another solid month two great game's on offer hope they continue this trend.
Awesome, 2 PS4 games I probably wouldn't have bought but am very happy to try (obviously played original Resi back in the day...)
actual sunlight i watched a review for, and Mad riders is Meh as i have Motorstorm Pacific rift. the rest look good
Really nice selection of ps4 games. I already have resident evil remastered but I'm really interested in playing platinum transformer game. I'm okay with $10 price hike if it means we can expect good free titles like these. Also I already bought 1 year ps plus a couple of weeks before so the price hike doesn't affect me this year.
Next move, replace ps vita games with ps vr games
great selection looking forward to resident evil
Ha , I got resident evil and resident evil 0 in the humble bundle just last month! Oh well I'll look forward to transformers as I haven't played that yet
Great selection! I have been really wanting Transformers, so I'm happy! Resident Evil is nice, considering October is upon us.
I've already got Resident Evil and it has not held up, but I'm thrilled about Transformers for some reason.
These are pretty good games but...what about some Exclusive games?
Gravity Rush remastered....
I bought REmake on launch, and its a nice HD REfresh of the already fantastic GameCube REmake.
Transformers is out of left field but welcome.
Another solid month and they seem to be going in a different direction on vita after a worrying period of psp titles. Have been quite enjoying my first visual novel experience this month.
glad for transformers wanted to give it a blast. never liked RES clunky controls just got on my nerves
Could it be the price hike is actually leading to an increase in quality?!
Transformers and Code:Realize are probably the best games we've gotten all year. Resident Evil is great too but it's not for me. Even From Dust seems okay.
Not really a RE fan but transformers is great been wanting that for ages but there has been other games I wanted first
Shame no nights of azure I really want that game and with the sequel being made would make sense well here's hoping next month
It's a shame that I already own Transformers physically, but I've had plus games at retail before and downloaded the digital release for convenience's sake, so that's a nice option. The game is an absolute must-play if you like G1 Transformers or Platinum's beat 'em up games.
I also highly recommend Saurian Dash's series of videos explaining the gameplay systems in TFD - this guy is inhumanly good at Platinum's games, and his system breakdown videos are incredibly worthwhile watches.
Also nice to see the PS Vita getting a nice mix of indie and niche titles out to a wider audience - been meaning to try Actual Sunlight; and given that I really enjoyed Amnesia : Memories, another Otome game by the same team absolutely cannot go amiss... and based on the story synopsis, I'm likely gonna enjoy this one even more.
Another great line up!Last time I played Resident Evil was on GameCube so will d/l this update version.Been interested in Transformers so that's a plus..
And Code Realize looks interesting too, never heard of the others but I'll give them a go.
Here's a question: Is this the first time that an Activision published title has ever appeared on Plus? Might well be.
Transformers is one of the main reasons I just picked up a PS4 slim. I will still be buying the disk copy but this is a really good set of games for those with PS+.
The yellow cross no longer hovers by my name..
Having looked at this months line up I have no regrets And I am sick to the back teeth of having to be a plus to game online.
Is transformer's online? Decent month tho.
Damn Transformer's is a single player beat em up, not my kinda game but it's still a good month can't complain.
Great for me it's my 40th and looks like I'm getting some games I want and don't own. Most looking forward to transformers. Was a point I was going to get this but my backlog was to big.
Best lineup since PS4 launched, unfortunately I already got Resident Evil in the Capcom Humble Bundle.... looking forward to trying actual sunlight... as I deal with depression myself I wonder how a game would deal with it
I am not going to complain and thats all I have to say on the matter
Cool! I'll definitely play Transformers, heard good things about it
I can't justify $70 a year for Plus, So I'll continue to chip away at my backlog for free.
Oh wow, another otome game on Vita?
PS+ lineup has been much better than the price hike, I have to admit. REmake is a total masterpiece. I had no intention of buying Transformers, but I'm interested in trying it out. I've thought about getting Actual Sunlight, too, so that's good.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi Surely the best month was way back in the beginning of this gen when we got Outlast. That, for me, was the high point of what has been a poor showing for plus subscribers this gen. As for this month, RE is a fab game, but it's now showing its age. I do understand the positivity to most subscribers, just not for me this month, again. It's qll down to personal preference and it's clear that Sony is trying to mix it up a bit which is great. I, like others, would have liked to have seen a PSVR section, even if they were just two indie "experiences". Who knows, that might come in the next few months.
Great selection. I don't own either of the PS4 titles and I guess I'll try out Actual Sunlight. I'm not really a fan of the visual novels, but I guess it caters to a large chunk of the vita audience.
@ShoryukenKid same here but oh well didn't cost much do not out too much
Ayyy that's pretty good.
Tansformers is a single player game? And it's about fighting robots.
So many single player games not taking advantage of all of that PS4 power. DQ Heroes I thought should be 2 player like so many of those other mosou games. Even Wii U managed 2 player for Hyrule Warriors. DQ Builders is like Minecraft. Godzilla only has online, no couch. Gamecube had 4 players for Godziila. This game seems a natural for either a vs or co-op mode.
Oh well, back to waiting for robo-Knack. I'm sure it will hit PS+ eventually.
Not a bad line-up I guess.... Could be worse I guess, could be better... OK for free though....
Will get transformers, for sure. Nearly bought it in the sale few weeks back. Glad I didn't!
As if some people are still complaining. You guys....!
Yes Resi - never would of bought that again so Im really happy
Actual Sunlight - Great, I had forgotten about this one
Ive played Transformers and its okay, but pretty basic and really short. Still great on PSPlus though thats for sure.
Great Month for everyone.
@themcnoisy Transformers is certainly basic and short. But it runs flawlessly and the combat is a lot of fun and overall it doesn't outstay it's welcome. Lots of great fan service too through the soundtrack, graphics and voice actors.
It does feel like it belongs in the early 2000's, which might put some people off.
Personally I'd advise against playing as Optimus or Iron Hide though, pick one off the faster guys, they are more fun.
I'm playing it now, still think it's cracking.
Nice games but I have them already. Well, not the HD remake, just the SD one but dont feel like double dipping, even if free. If it was 0 I would be all over it cause I never played it.
There's a good selection.
Stoked for Transformers!! It was one of the games that made me want a ps4 but i never got around to buying it.
@kyleforrester87 Agreed, to me I was underwhelming die to platinums pedigree (at the time) but its a solid and fun game. When I mean basic, some of the mechanics like collecting boxes and shooting 3 lazers in 10 seconds and stuff like that, proper lazy game design. But its fun and some of the battles are tough.
@icarusdreams yeah the humble bundle was an amazing deal for the games we got on PS4 and PS3 , and it was for a good cause so can't complain to much
Solid lineup for ps4, shame I have them both.
Resident Evil and Transformers ..... Best PS4 double yet .... If u dont have them of course!!! Got Resi HD double pack. Devastation was always on my list though so happy bout that. Actual Sunlight sounds interesting too.
This is a really strong update. I added in the video:
Outstanding! That is worth the extra $10 annually!
Awesome! But since I live in Japan, I wonder what I will get.
Japanese PS Plus games are often very different from the western market.
We always get a bunch of stupid childish JRPG games with bad stories (never the good ones). But since RE and Transformers are both very popular here, I think we might actually get both this time.
nice nice nice ^^ got Resi already, but Transformers has been on my Radar for quite some time somehow (well, I dont like Transformers but I love Platinum Games lol) - my Vita is also lookin Forward for Code: Realize and Actual Sunlight
Argh, if only it was RE0. RE1 is one of my favourite games of all time but I already have REmake on PS4, PC and the original GC one. I have RE0 on GC but not PS4.
Transformers is a good one though. It's meant to be a good game but it's not one I'd ever have actually bought. It's nice to see a VN for Vita, I like seeing them reaching into other genres than quirky indie games. Shame it's an Otome, though (i.e. a dating sim where you're a girl going after guys).
REmake, the game that has been ported a million times? And Transformers, a game on par with the Platinum Turtles flop?
Yeah, it's not a good month.
@Mahe ported once (GC to PS4 - or did it make it onto Wii too?) and nope Transformers is quite a bit better than Turtles Enjoy!
Excellent line up - I would have paid for both the PS4 and Vita games so one very happy bunny. Of course, I will probably never get round to playing these.
Wondering how easy it will be to return to Resident Evil. Me and a friend went through it on PS1 when it was first released but then I tried again on GC but I had already played Resi 4 and it was hard to go back. Still a good one to have in the library.
Very nice selection this month!
Resident Evil is EXCELLENT Shame I got it already tho
I've got both of them, seems like PS Plus is now worth it.
I had a lot of fun with Devastation on PC, so this is welcome news
@Rudy_Manchego Well I think REmake has actually aged better than RE4, oddly. I went back to both not long ago and RE4 was very unpleasant to play. The controls felt awful (people forget but RE4 still had the tank contrils) and it was like walking around with a bike helmet on. Vision felt too restricted, a really low FOV, and turning felt like you were steering a boat.
Meanwhile REmake felt the same. I think it's because it's quite unique whereas RE4 is a 3rd person shooter so is directly comparable with any modern 3rd person shooter. The comparison is not kind at all. I guess you could compare to going back to a 2D Platformer like SMB compared to going back to an early 3D one like Crash (but a lot worse). The 2D one feels timeless whereas Crash feels clunky and restrictive and you're just impressed how far 3D gaming has come.
Also, for what it's worth, you can turn off tank controls in the modern release of REmake. I think it actually plays better with them, though. YMMV.
