It's that time of the year where release dates get chopped and changed, as publishers realise that releasing their wares amid the holiday rush perhaps isn't the best plan. South Park: The Fractured but Whole is the latest casualty, as Ubisoft has pushed the licensed role-playing game out of December and into Q1 2017.
"The development team wants to make sure the game experience meets the high expectations of fans and the additional time will help them achieve this goal," the publisher explained on its official website. I have a few games for I'd like for the holiday so I can wait a little bit but too far in Feb and I'll be loaded with too many games again. This will be tough to decide to get or wait till price cut later in 2017.
Another one bites the dust..
This is just getting ridiculous!There is no point at all anymore to put a release date next to a game.Don't even tell us what's coming out,just bring the games out when they are ready..
I wonder how many games will get shifted into Q2 due to the influx of games in Q1? Wouldn't be surprised if Horizon moved back to April at the latest.
Same week as FF XV and the Last Guardian , this Wouldn't have stood a chance,an early feb release would be okay.
It would be nice if Ubi gave Stick of Truth away for free as a Ps Plus game to make up for the delays.
Stick of truth came free with the preorder through playstation store so most who did it digitally already have it
@PlaytendoGuy they already gave it away for free to people who pre-order, so I'm not sure they would do anything more than that.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I wanted to get Stick of Truth for PS4 but..it's not possible anymore right?
Great news on my end! I have it on preorder and after TLG was moved to the 9th I genuinely didn't know what to play. Spoilers would be near impossible to avoid due to damn YouTube thumbnails (happens to me way to often) and friends. Hope Sony move GR2 aswell, as I imagine that this & TLG share a lot of the core audience.
Expected with a lot of big hitters coming out on the run up to Xmas. Also expect a Playstation reshuffle for February 2017 to many games. We have Horizon, Persona, Nier, Nioh. I have a feeling Horizon might be pushed back a few months so it can shine.
So many delays... I guess that's not a bad thing either though. Saves me a little bit of money this holiday season.
Gravity Rush 2 is coming out that same week so this doesn't bother me too much. Just gotta hope Gravity Rush 2 breaks all conventions and manages to the be the one game that hits its release date.
My heart sunk when I seen this article! This is the one game I was mega looking forward to, mother truckerrrr
@AFCC no man you can't get stick of truth, only from buying fractured butt whole, gutted.. But if you have a PS3 I think that's going cheap now
One less competitor for Gravity Rush 2, I suppose. Although Q1 2017 will presumably see Persona 5, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Resident Evil VII, and Zelda: Breath of the Wild releasing, in which case I won't be getting this for a good long while.
December did seem a strange time to launch it in the first place. In all honesty I will get the game but I will be busy with PSVR at the end of the year so its good that its been moved.
time to park E3 for a year, maybe then the games will catch up a bit nearer their actual release dates.. all these delays into 2017 just means all the new stuff we were shown a few months ago will be out 2018 at the earliest.

Oh come on! Getting a bit ridiculous. Only games left that I'm looking forward to this year are Pokemon and maybe The Last Guardian. Might have to get both Sun and Moon now
Cartman: " Pre order doesn't mean sh*t, when you pre order a game you're just committing to paying for something that some ars*hol*s haven't even finished working on yet. You know what you get for pre order a game? A big d*ck in your mouth"
F*ck me, the start of next year is going to be insanely good!
Probably a good thing for me, I've got it preordered so still have The Stick of Truth to play through and my first child is due in December so I probably wouldn't have time to play it
Gravity Rush 2 will probably be the next game to get pushed back. Unfortunately.
@Wazeddie22
My thoughts exactly. I want the game when it's ready so whatever, delay it if you have to, but stop giving what are clearly unrealistic release dates. The most hilarious part of all this is the PS4 and Xbox One supposedly make development easier but this gen has seen more delays than I can ever remember from companies not named Nintendo.
Awww man. I thought this one was in the bag dev wise. Well I had better just go to San Diego...
@Leeham Thanks man.
I would rather play it on ps4 thou...I played on pc when it was released but I would like a trophy hunt now
@AFCC I completely agree but I just read up about it and I'm not sure actually I read on Reddit that if you pre order the game you'll get stuck of truth straight away? I can't be sure trough
