Look at that list of features! We were absolutely swamped here at Push Square this week, but we put out a mammoth amount of content, with a ton of PlayStation VR coverage. And this only represented week one of our virtual reality blow-out – expect another wealth of coverage over the coming days.

PlayStation VR Worlds - 5/10
PlayStation VR Worlds is messy attempt at repurposing tech demos into a retail package. While there's no doubt that The London Heist is among the best that Sony's headset has to offer, Ocean Descent is short-lived and Danger Ball won't hold your attention much longer. VR Luge is a nice idea that demands a more precise control scheme, while Scavenger's Odyssey will leave you reaching for your sick bucket. There's some amazing presentation and tech on display here, but despite London Studio's best efforts, it never really comes together as a complete, cohesive package. And while it's undoubtedly left us excited to see which worlds the developer will take us to next, it's hard to shake the feeling that these ones are nothing more than proof of concepts.
Batman: Arkham VR - 7/10
How much would you pay to be Batman for an hour? If your answer sits somewhere in the region of £15.99/$19.99, then Batman: Arkham VR is a virtual no-brainer. With the exception of the finicky motion tracking and brief running time, this is an exceptional short story that eloquently demonstrates many of the advantages of virtual reality. But perhaps the most impressive thing here is that, in transforming you into the Dark Knight, it illuminates both the pros and cons of being a masked vigilante. And while the former interactions will make you feel downright awesome, it's when the Caped Crusader slowly begins to unravel that it comes into its own.

Hardware Review: PlayStation VR - The Future of Play
Sony's award-winning 1999 commercial hinged on one simple, indelible message: PlayStation has the power to transform you into someone you're not; the capacity to transport you to places that you've never been to before. And in the near-two decades since that promise was made, the Japanese giant's pushed forward with its pledge of providing players with a so-called "double life"; technological advancements have not only enhanced the way that we interact with games, but also the fidelity that we see on the screen.

Podcast: Episode 15 - A Strong Month for PS4
It's somehow been 15 whole episodes and to celebrate we're talking all things PlayStation VR! This takes the place of our usual 'Big Review' as our super-duper special guest this week is the king himself, Editor Sammy Barker who (with the passing of the initial embargo) drops all the details on PSVR and some of its titles. Plus, we discuss just how strong of a month October is for PS4 – it might just surprise you. In my Indie Bin this week is... nothing, as I've had a serious gaming accident which I discuss in more detail during the usual WAYP section.

PS4 Firmware Update 4.01 Puts in a Surprise Appearance
Sony's dropped a new PlayStation 4 firmware update this morning, which will bring added stability to your system. Our understanding is that this update – dubbed v4.01 and weighing in at 312.1MB – has been rolled out with PlayStation VR in mind, though there's nothing in the patch notes to back that up. Probably bug fixes and the usual tweaks, then.
Bethesda Gives 'Big Thanks' to Sony for Allowing Fallout 4, Skyrim Mods on PS4
As many of you will no doubt already know, Bethesda and Sony have recently come to some sort of an agreement regarding user created mods for Fallout 4 and yet-to-be-released The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Special Edition. Indeed, mod support is now officially confirmed for both titles on PlayStation 4, which is good news for just about everyone involved.

A lot of good news, some meh news, but no real bad news then. The only real disappointment then is the limitation in bethesda mods, but it's still better news than the old news of zero mods.
Speaking of which, the more I think of it the more I find that the fault is most likely with bethesda than with Sony. Farming Sim 17 has full ps4 mod support WITH external assets, after all.
