Lara Croft only clambered her way onto the PlayStation 4 last week, but she's already been patched up. A new update for Rise of the Tomb Raider released today, pledging 4K support for the PlayStation 4 Pro. The notes also mention reduced input lag, as well as various stability and bug fixes. The catch? Many are reporting that the update has completely bricked their game.
We just took the 446MB tweak for a test-drive and found the game to be running fine – albeit without any discernible improvements to the aforementioned control issues. That said, dozens of people around the web are reporting that they can't get past the start screen in some instances. Hopefully a fix is forthcoming swiftly.

Oh great,I'm really enjoying this..can we just not accept the update?
The Store doesn't recognize if I have a PS4 or a PRO, right? That means that in the near future I'll have to update my games even if I can't care less about 4K or VR? And what about those auto-downloads that start even if I unchecked that crappy auto-download box?!?
@Wazeddie22 I think you can just hit the options on the download screen, if that doesn't work you can pause the DL.
I wonder how this kind of thing passes Square and Sony.
@andreoni79 The patch does more than add PS4 Pro support, so you need to install it anyway.
I'll wait to hear if this eliminates the input delay. That an enhanced port of a year old game still has this problem is completely unacceptable. I'd like to get the PS4 release, but if it continues to have input delay after the update, I'll be getting this on Steam.
@get2sammyb I was just writing about this... I still don't have the game anyway, but why don't they release two different updates, one for bugs fixing and one for PRO and VR support? One could just pause the second one without installing it! Aaargh!!! Lazy devs of the digital era!!!
EDIT: it seems to be an online only problem. Thank god I'm 99% offline (I go online just for trophies, friends and updates) but still...
@Ralizah Agreed it is ridiculous and inexcusable that they still haven't fixed the input lag. The Xbox 360 version runs without this issue but the so called next gen consoles can't.
My update installed automatically, now I cant get past the 'continue' option. It crashes. Is my game bricked or is there a way to fix it. There are also problems with PSN, is this connected to the issue.
I can't download it since psn is offline, until dawn rush of blood online leaderboard doesn't work too. The patch is great if it can reduced input lag on ps4, there's about 1/4 second lag from when I touch the ds4 to lara/camera movement on screen, not a big problem because I already get used to it, but it will be nice to have normal movement without lag like the first game.
I just disconnected from the internet from the ps4's settings and the game runs fine, so it must be the PSN issue causing the problems and not the update.
I literally spent all morning trying to get this to work... I couldn't load the game for more than 10 seconds without it crashing.
I even deleted it and reinstalled it... (that seemed to work) but still it was a pain.
After automatically downloading the patch, my game kept crashing at the title screen or when I hit continue, but like @DragonSlayer1759 said, if you disconnect from the network, it runs fine. Bloody single player game anyway.
And I never managed to sign up to the Square Enix servers since day one...
@whizzkidd I know it's a terrible site. I could login after using Facebook. And the customerservice is the worst there is.
Even worse than Sony's customer service??? Must be bad lol.
@whizzkidd Thanks for this. I thought it was just me.
I've paused the update till they fix it.
