This must be some kind of record! Sony's dropped the European PlayStation Store update, and between PlayStation VR and a slew of holiday heavy hitters, this has to be the largest refresh ever. This author's been writing about PlayStation for eons now, but can't ever remember this many titles dropping in the same week.

I picked up Rise of the Tomb Raider in Tesco this morning for £32 because they put the wrong shelf edge label on it.
This is a lot of games though to be adding and obviously most is for VR, today is the first day that I've been concerned about the exposure of PSVR. For us to be so close to launch I've seen nothing today when out shopping, none of the supermarkets mentioned it (though Tesco did have something going on in the games section) Game had absolutely no promotional material or even a game for pre order
@carlos82 They're not setting off a nuclear bomb with this thing, it's going to be a slow burn. Hardware will be in limited supply anyway, so no point running mental advertising campaigns when no one can buy one.
That's what she said...
Canceled my VR order yesterday, have been on the fence for a while, but haven't see anything that really floats my boat, and was remembered how Sony seems to drop support for things like this so quickly, if it not a hit straight off the bat. Will monitor the marketing and reviews a while longer before I take the plunge. 1st Major PS hardware I have not purchased day one (PS1,PS2,PSP,PS3,VITA & PS4).But Happy VR'ing to those brave enough to jump straight in.
@carlos82 just picked up Tomb Raider myself but paid £44.99 for it!I haven't bought a game from Game for years but was in town so I coughed up the money but I get where you are coming from with the VR,like you say not even Game were promoting it..in fact I didant see anything about it at all.It's only because I asked if they were going to have a demo booth for it (which they aren't)that I knew they were having it in at all.Very strange..
I am interested about the marketing for VR - I feel it is being pushed in PS store and in PS centric sites but not really in the mainstream. My concern is whether it is a lack of faith in the product OR a marketing strategy.
After weighing it up, I think it is a strategy. It can't be marketed in a normal way and I think splashing loads on the typical usual first adopters isn't wise. I mean, they went bigger with PS Move and Vita if memory serves. I think VR speaks for itself when tried.
@Rudy_Manchego It's a strategy for sure.
Further to what others have said I am unsure of Sony's strategy regarding the PSVR it does not seem to be hyped up like the other VR systems. In Game Occulus posters have been around for months. I know there is a supposed short supply but the word still needs to get out for this product. You would think with Christmas only being a short time away they would be pushing this product and getting it on the kids lists for christmas. I really want to see this product pushed a lot more by Sony and the shops on the high street. I do not think word of mouth will get this product into peoples homes.
I think my local Game is getting a PSVR bt they do not have space for a demo though they did say I could put it on my head lol. I said whats the point in just putting it on my head the staff my member just shrugged his shoulders. I would buy my games from Game if they were competitive with other stores. Even if they did an unnoficial price match service that would be good.
Regarding the games list for this week never seen so many games must be one of the largest games list for a week I have ever seen.
Just did a quick head count...
I'll be getting 12 of these at some point!
My poor wallet
Duke nukem seems to have disappeared from the store.
VR would be a definite for me if watching movies and off-TV play for standard PS4 games was up to scratch. Apparently its pretty pants. . . Buying what is essentially a new system for a dozen or so demo-esque VR experiences is hard to justify at this point.
