For eons developers have been pondering how to make strategy games work on standard controllers. Tethered, a new title from start-up Secret Sorcery, thinks that it's happened upon the solution: virtual reality. Using the PlayStation VR headset, this diorama-esque experience sees you playing God by using your gaze to, ahem, tether small little creatures to objects of interest.
We're not massively keen on the artstyle, but the camera perspective and sense of depth makes for an interesting experiment. Leaning into the world and watching your 'Peeps' work is fun, and the controls really do function well β much better than they would without the head-tracking. Check out the gameplay video embedded above, and let us know if you'll be picking this up in the comments below.

I dunno. RT strategy games are usually not my cup of tea, so I'll pass. There are some more interesting titles on the way for me and since I've already sent a signal to Sony by spending a fortune on VR and their games and in pre-ordering the Pro, its just time to enjoy what I have as of now.
And keep adjusting and calibrating to lessen the wobble and drift issues ....
@Furtin I only have these problems in Job Simulator. I think there's a good chance they may be able to update the firmware to make things sturdier because the drift issues seem to be annoyingly inconsistent.
@get2sammyb well, lets say that they are most pronounced in JS. Because sometimes, if I dont do the power cycle, I also have it when I'm switching through two games while sitting close to the camera (1,5m). I really hooe someone at Sony would at least tell us that they are working on a fix. Because a lot of people I know have returned their PSVR and thats not a good start. Not in the slightest. I keep my fingers crossed thouh, because most games work great, especially Tumble with one Move controller at 1,5m. The thing is, when I reach back the controller starts to wobble. Whilst it remains steady when closer to the cam. Oh, well I might try something new this evening...ππ
Im very interested in reading the PushSquare review of this game. All the reviews scores ive seen on this game have been 9's or higher
@get2sammyb why not allow us to set 2 playstation cameras one in front one behind u,via a longer connecting cable?
@KAPADO Let me jump in, if you dont mind....
The PS4 has only one port to begin with, so you would need some sort of a splitter.
But the PS4 is already very busy to track signals from one camera (so it seems), having another would not only add up to more processing problems, but because its a visible light based tracking system, it would have problems to make out which signal is meant for each camera. Keeping in mind that the light situation in a PSVR room is already finnicky....
The Vive uses IR lasers and the Rift IR sensors. Thats why they arent interfering as much. Although, reading the Vive reddit from when it launched, it had massive tracking problems and needed a whole lot of optimisation.
And keep in mind: its still 1Gen. Lots of improvements will follow in the coming years. It just only has begun!π
@Furtin i figured the ps4 pro is stronger and could assign a back camera. I get that that's only vr gen one. Im loving my PSVR ,but when i turn around..sometimes it shows its flaws. But a 9 out of 10 in my book.
