We understand that the movie business is basically a mess, but the revolving door surrounding the Uncharted film is getting on our nerves. Following the project's most recent exodus, Deadline reports that Sony Pictures has tapped Shawn Levy to take the reins. He most recently worked on Netflix's Stranger Things, and he also directed the Hugh Jackman mech-a-thon Real Steel.
The fact of the matter, though, is that we've been covering this flick since the inception of the site, and it's never got any closer to release. So while Levy's history with the Night at the Museum series may make him a good fit, the reality is that he'll have left the project in six or so months. That's just the way this story goes, we're afraid.

This movie, the last of us movie, the sonic movie,.....I have lost track of which movie is coming out for real
Never understood this to begin with. Just watch one of the good Indiana Jones movies or go play Uncharted 4.
There hasnt been a single noteworthy game-to-film adaptation since Street Fighter, with Kylie Minogue, Raul Julia & JCVD.

Well, same can be said for "The Last Guardian", and that finally went gold, so there's hope.
And speaking of this sites beginning, you should probably say something nice about Pete Burns, I'm pretty sure you've subtitled articles w/ his song lyrics at least 300 or 400 times. R.I.P.
Has been awhile though, I think since your love affair w/ TS started.
It surprises me how troubled this movie has become, cause in all honesty I wouldn't thought it would be to hard to make an Uncharted movie, just copy Indiana Jones.
If it carries on like this we'll be having Roger Moore as Nathan Drake, Ian McKellen as Sully and Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders as Chloe and Elena. with a script by Alan Bennett. Directed by Mike Newell.
@rjejr I was very sad to hear about the passing of Pete Burns.
@nathanSF oh my stars imagine a 2000-era McKellen as Sully!
Isn't the new Tom Hanks movie an Uncharted spinoff?
The Uncharted games are basically interactive movies anyways, never understood the point of this to be honest.
@BowTiesAreCool you have a fine mind, sir.
@slimcrowder Hanks couldn't scale a fish
