With The Last Guardian finally out in just a few weeks, Sony seems more eager than ever to kick the marketing machine into gear. The title's latest trailer is a cinematic one in which our young hero is being pursued by a bunch of faceless guards. When the boy reaches an unsurprisingly brittle wooden bridge, he has no choice but to put his fate into the claws of his giant partner.
The PlayStation 4 exclusive will launch on the 6th December in North America, and the 9th December in Europe. Can you believe that it's almost here? Make sure that you're not dreaming in the comments section below.

@get2sammyb Is that the Pro version because graphically it looks way better than what we have seen. Just look at the textures now, and also Trico's feathers look so good and realistic. They are really keeping the story unedr wraps wich is a good thing. Hyped now.
@SnowstormX ... It's a CG trailer. They're showing it in cinemas, apparently.
@SnowstormX It says "Not actual gameplay" in a small light gray font bottom middle of the screen for the first 5 seconds.
1 week after BF and FFXV. 6 years and a console later and thats what they pick for the release date? Brilliant.
Would love if they release a plush of Trico.
@Kidfried "but you can't really blame Sony for it"
Actually I blame Sony for all of it. They showed the trailer at E3 on PS3 6 years ago, they then moved it to PS4, they then decided to have it release early December. Sony has no say over when FFXV releases, but they could have moved TLG date to early Nov or late January. Just seems like a poor week. How poor is it? - it's so poor thats the week Nintendo picked for it's big holiday game last year XCX. Sony should copy Nintendo's bad moves.
Im glad my bday is dec 1 i got so many games to choose from then only have to wait 24 to get another game lol.
Don't know why but I teared up a little watching that.
Still can't believe it but within 3 weeks I'll have Final Fantasy XV AND The Last Guardian in my hands. Dear God DON'T let them suck.
@Fight_Teza_Fight I want to play The Last Guardian more somehow i can't wait to pick up my CE.
What with this and Final Fantasy among a dozen other games I'm going to be buying or receiving I think I will have no choice but to play only a couple of games at a time because my 500gb ps4 stands no chance of coping..
The trailer looks amazing by the way!
@Flaming_Kaiser Same here. I will be taking a little break from FFXV when TLG drops. I don't expect it to be long- 5-7 hours tops, but I know I'm going to love every minute of it.
I Want to Believe.™
If it's as haunting and subtly emotional as their previous games, then I'll definitely grab a copy. I can take a break from Pokemon for a Team ICO game.
The "emotional" part shouldn't be hard. I'm a softy for animals, so I know this game is going to make me cry at least once.
I am definitely excited about this game, but I ended up canceling my pre-order of the special edition. I just could not rationalize putting down $100 on an iffy proposition after being disappointed with No Man's Sky. I really think that I will pre-order less in general. It is our own fault if we put down money based on hype though I am guilty of it. Now, I would rather wait for some reviews by websites that I trust.
PreOrdered the CE. Can't wait. Won't be long now. Counting days.
@rjejr @rjejr Yh I didn't see the writing lol. Yh I agree not the best release date ever. But where else could they put it January and February is packed with games and March the Switch and hopefully Zelda will release.
I've been hyped for this for so many years. I can't believe it's finally almost here.
Looks like a good time.
@SnowstormX Don't hold your breath for Zelda in March, rumour mill says no. And if Switch gets Skyrim at launch it won't need Zelda anyway.
Nice "leap of faith" at the end of the trailer. Will this thing fly or crash?
@Biolan Probably won't do so well, but neither did Ico and even SOTC was a bit of a Marmite experience. I'm sure it'll have its loyal fans, though, and will be mentioned on websites such as this for years to come, which is more than can be said for the likes of Battlefield 1 and Fifa 17 etc.
It's not mentioned in this article but the developer said as part of a Q&A:
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/11/18/the-last-guardian-new-trailer-qa/
@Kidfried 3) They delayed Gravity Rush 2 to let this game have some breathing space. That i s a huge effort already. They delayed this game a week to not have it collide with Final Fantasy. It's still rather unfortunate, but more they could not do.
Well I guess they did try then, but if they announced "2016" at E3 2015, well they sure did wait until the last minute, or month anyway. Of course they also showed this game of fat E3 2009, that was 7 years ago, SEVEN, so why the rush now?
Edit: 7 years, not 9, pre-caffeine math.
