In a way, news that Gravity Rush 2 has gone gold so early is kind of sad. The game, which was originally due in early December, was clearly on track – but delays to the likes of Final Fantasy XV and The Last Guardian mean that it's been pushed back. The title will now launch on 18th January in Europe and 20th January in North America, so you've got quite a wait.
The good news is that developer Japan Studio is going to use the delay to create some DLC, which will be made available for free at launch. It's kinda frustrating knowing that the game is finished and ready to go, but we're sure that it will be worth the wait, and it's probably best for the future of the franchise that it has some space to breathe.

Bitter sweet! :/
It still kinda stings, but it was probably better than butting heads with FFXV and Last Guardian. January isn't too painful a wait either.
Will be my first game of 2017
Can't wait for the game, I hope there's 60 fps patch for the pro like infamous 2nd son and rise of the tomb raider.
Gone Gold ? never heard that term before.
@wiiware I hope it's 60fps for the standard PS4 but I'm probably just too idealistic.
Anyway great to know we're on track to getting it.
I didn't really know what this game was until trying the demo but it was awesome. Not sure how the story aspects work but the gameplay was Bayonetta 3, so I'm sold.
@DLB3 Road to Greatness. Sorry, I probably should have mentioned that.

@DLB3 I'm hoping it winds up PS+ in January when the 2nd releases to get more people to buy the sequel.
Look Bethesda this is how you go gold. Take your time and not with a 9,5GB patch on day one......
Oh well, I can wait for it.
@ThroughTheIris56 The preview/demo code is 30 fps, I don't think even ps4 pro can get 60 fps for this game.
@wiiware Bugger
@rjejr I wouldn't count on that because 1) I can't recall Sony doing anything like that, 2) Other games could potentially get that instead if they were to do it. 3) 1/2 of Sony aren't aware Gravity Rush exists and 1/4 don't care so anything for Gravity Rush is probably unlikely.
You might as well wait till January to see, if not you have enough time to buy and complete the first one. But I reckon you will definitely need to play the 1st one since it's full of loose ends that aren't tied up.
@ThroughTheIris56 "But I reckon you will definitely need to play the 1st one since it's full of loose ends that aren't tied up."
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I'll have plenty of time though, it might literally be years before I get to GR2, I have 3 years worth of PS4 games to play first.
The game only gets one chance to launch: best to do it at a time when other, more publicized games won't sink it right away. I can wait another month.
@rjejr Haha, I know that feel, I buy more games than I have time to play.
But Gravity Rush 1 shouldn't take too long to complete especially if you're only doing the main story.
