When it comes to online sales, Cyber Monday was pretty darn crazy this year. According to I4U, yesterday was the biggest online sales day in history, with $3.39 billion being spent in the United States. We guess that people really like rock bottom prices, huh?
The good news for Sony is that the PlayStation 4 was actually Cyber Monday's best selling electronics item, which is pretty impressive when you consider how broad the electronics market is. What's more, the publication states that the PS4 is currently November's best selling video game console, and since November is almost over, we would assume that means Sony's system will most likely be back on top in North America after losing out to the Xbox One for multiple months now. We'll know for sure when December's NPD report comes around in a couple of weeks.
Did you spend much on Cyber Monday? Do you prefer it to Black Friday? Come up with your own dumb consumer holiday names in the comments section below.

Well, they had the marketing deals, they had a new, more powerful version of the console on the market, VR and a $250 for a Slim with a copy of Uncharted 4... If the PS4 doesn't win November NPDs, it should still be very close. I don't care so much who 'wins' I just hope the news is better than the recent putrid sales numbers, especially in regards to software.
@Gamer83 Trouble is of course is digital sales don't get factored in, which it should at this point.
According to Adobe, the Xbox One was in the Top 5 on Black Friday with only iPads, Samsung 4k TVs, Macbook Air and LG TV's selling more. Of course this was online only sales and only accounted for Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday in the US...
Funny how sites jump on little snippets like this. According to Adode, Americans spent $5.27 billion online on Black Friday which also included the evening of Thanksgiving Day. According to the report, $1.93 billion was spent on Thanksgiving Day and the remaining $3.34 billion on Black Friday - Whilst its more than a 'whole day', its more than was spent on Cyber Monday and Friday itself wasn't that far behind...
I spent about $120 online Thanksgiving morning Thursday but that was it until food shopping on Monday.
I did buy my PS4 Slim about 2 weeks ago but if I hadn't I would have picked up a Slim sometime over the weekend.
So, are we ever going to see Slim and Pro sales separated out like we do w/ 3DS and New 3DS and 3DS XL and New 3DS XL? PSVR sales would be interesting as well, didn't see too many sales advertised for those this weekend either.
Had Nintendo made more than about 1 million NES Mini I think it could have been near the top of the pack, but they didn't.
@adf86
Should be factored in for sure. Even still, some of these games have flopped so hard I'm not sure even with digital sales factored in if the numbers would be impressive. Especially in the case of Titanfall 2 and Watch Dogs 2 it would still look bad. Which is a shame because both of those games are great, improve on the originals and deserve to get more attention.
VR? Nah, it was already sold out, nobody was buying PS4 for VR in November because they already bought VR last month. Because PlayStation is the best place to... Blah blah. And PS4 'Slim' was dirt dirt dirty cheap. PS4 Pro launched which is what plenty were waiting for perhaps also contributed to delayed software sales.
Funny how VR sold out and consumers are lapping up Pro. Far too many whiners complaining of the apparently unnecessary Pro even though how many billion people buy a new phone every 2 years? Roll over please.

This is good news but I'm more interested in official NPD results. These aggregated reports are interesting but too specific to one form of buying option.
There were tons of offline deals on Monday, hell even today I've seen "post-cyber monday deals!" on street corners
nice! i bought a ps4 controller for $39.99 US and ratchet and clank ps4 for $15 US so i was happy.
I love Cyber Monday. It's like Black Friday only I can sit in my underwear with a cup of tea and not have to speak to anyone, at all, ever.
