I like this site but you guys are a bit slow on your news updates aren't you. I read this list hours ago on various other sites.
Probably a time zone thing on updates....
As far as this list goes, ideally it would show what the Pro enhancement consists of specifically.
Older games might be 4K upscaling (super sampling) only and some newer ones might be 4K native or boosted frame rate.
This is a nice list, but the improvements are all over the place.
PushSquare source their information from the said "various other sites" then upload them on this site, did you not know?
OT - This is an impressive list but it's a shame GTA V isn't on there, that would look amazing in 4K or with HDR at least. The Scorpio has got to match this, that's even if it's going to have an option of upgrading post released games.
I have a fair few of these games, I won't be picking up a pro this year but do have a 4K TV, will there will be any difference in output/display if they are being patched
@GBMatthew Despite common belief, getting news out fast doesn't make much of a difference in terms of traffic unless we publish something super late.
So with Mafia III being included on this list does that mean it'll actually look like a PS4 game now?
Knack! Wow
I have quite a few of these titles so it'll be interesting to see how different the games look especially Mafia 3,
@ShogunRok Well it didn't make much difference to me as I've only just gone on my lunch break and this is always the first site I visit.
Back on point I'll be picking my Pro up on launch and have quite the catalogue on this list to either replay, such as TLOU, Uncharted and Until Dawn amongst others. Some other games I've picked up recently and been waiting to play on Pro like both Infamous games, the new Tomb Raider and Modern Warfare so I have plenty to do for the next few months
I hope Skyrim is ready to go day one. It's the only thing I'm playing right now...
Also if anyone can tell me how much HHD space is on the Pro out the box I would appreciate.
I know it says 1 TB but it won't really be that much.
Now i have to replay ratchet and clank, the last of us, uncharted 4 again lol.....i wonder will mafia 3 be a better game with this upgrade?
@Splat 846.6 GB is what 1tb translates to on the standard PS4.
@NathanUC - Thanks. My plan was to get a new bigger HHD day one but just can't swing it right now. Had to get the 4K TV and Pro first.
@Splat Yeah I'm still not sure what I'll do yet either. I'll probably just tough it out with the stock 1tb drive until either cost goes down or capacity/speed goes up on the smaller 2.5" drives. It's a bummer that (apparently) 15mm drives won't fit.
It's a shame Bloodborne isn't on that list. That game desperately needs a patch to increase the framerate.
@ShogunRok Wheres Dishonored 2 I have seen this on other PS4 pro lists but its not on this one, was really looking forward to playing this on my Pro next week with 4k and hdr
@NathanUC - Someone should tell Sony that External Hard Drives are a thing...
I have a question or two. I have the €400 for a pro, I have the PSVR, but I don't have, or will be getting a 4k TV anytime soon. I have the pro on pre-order. Do I actually need a pro? Like, is it just going to speed up load times for me compared to my standard ps4? Should I just hold onto my money to get the NSwitch in March instead?
@NathanUC I got the Samsung M9T 2TB for £100 from Amazon (marked down from £149). Same rpm as the factory 500Gb so no change to load times. Pretty cheap I thought and no game's load times bothers me (more so after Bloodborne was patched to address it's shocking loading time).
Here are 2 tvs that are great and the cheapest ive seen for 4k hdr.....

@Boomtown_Raider I've been using a 1tb 7,200 rpm drive on my standard PS4, so I'm just concerned I'd 'feel' the difference. In theory, using a 5,400rpm drive should be about 25% slower than what I'm used to. My girlfriends PS4 is still on stock and it's a fairly noticeable difference (but I wouldn't say 25%)
Nice, I already got battlefield 1, rise of the tomb raider, and titanfall 2. Hmm, maybe I should stop playing battlefield 1 story and finish it on the pro..
@MaccaMUFC Why in every ps4 pro news you always say something about scorpio? Like seriously, there's no ps4 pro news without you saying something about scorpio..
@ranjas The point is that this is a Playstation news based website that always seems to be behind on their news updates that's all. Don't be such a pretentious fool.
@GBMatthew Watch the language please.
Wow you modded that tame remark lol.
Yup yup.
Robinson The Journey
@wiiware - Because the Scorpio is the only console that can compete with PS4 Pro, when both consoles are released it's inevitable they are both going to be compared a lot, weather you like it or not.
@wiiware it will inevitably draw comparisons for every game etc once both are released, it might be fun or it might get annoying, but nobody will be able to get away from it. Will be interesting to see how the Pro tries to match what the Scorpio does after next year, but I'm already sold on the Pro! Once I get a 4K tv to go with it.
60fps Bloodborne or no sale.
@NathanUC I switched out the HDD on my original PS4 for a 1TB Seagate SSD Hybrid and I'm unsure whether to swap that into my Pro before selling it.
Haven't seen much info on the HDD specs in the Pro, much of coverage is on graphics and processor.
@stevejcrow The drive in the PS4 Pro is still only a 5,400 RPM drive. I would say put the hybrid drive in your PS4 Pro and sell the original PS4 with either it's stock 500gb drive or the 1tb drive from the Pro.
@NathanUC Cheers, that was what I was considering. I've already put the 500g HDD to an alternative use so will just switch the two 1TB drives. I'm guessing that'll make transferring game data and saves a bit easier, as long as the Pro refuses to play nice!
@stevejcrow I still sold my old PS4 with the 1tb 7,200rpm drive just to set it apart from the other used ps4 on the market. I sold my launch edition PS4 with the 1tb 7,200 drive and 5 old games for $275! I feel super lucky (other than the fact that now I don't have a ps4...)
Does it specify how each of these games are affected? Native 4K, HDR, Upscaled 4K, 1080p/60fps modes? That info would be handy.
Now 4K Ratchet and Clank...I did by my PS4 for that one title. Just to tell Sony that kind of stuff is good and more please. Don't know if I want 4K R&C.
No Destiny I notice. They're getting more than enough milk from that cash cow already. I'm glad to see that Bungie hasn't spent our money on a PS4K version before getting dedicated servers though! LOL...
a lot of padding on that list super star dust really. just what you were hoping for on a 4k tv
Dammit I was trying to avoid PS4 Pro this year so I could save for me wedding... but all those games on uber console makes me want to buy it 😭
@GBMatthew really where dude? I saw another site with only 12 games mentioned. Pushsquare has over 40. Btw which do you think is better - PS4 Pro or Xbox one?
as far as i know, you can't just take the HDD out of the standard PS4 and put it in the PS4pro and have everything work. if you've swapped the original 500gb for something else (such as a bigger drive), you'll need another drive if you want to use your replacement drive in the pro.
So if I have a Pro and put a game in that doesn't have a Pro patch will it run exactly the same as when playing it on a base PS4?
Or will there be some improvement in frame rate/stability etc.
@slimcrowder We don't really know yet.
@get2sammyb Cool. Thanks for the quick reply!
I'm split between the Slim and Pro. But I don't think I'll be making the 4K leap for a while yet.
@slimcrowder At the moment it doesn't seem so, apparently Pro lowers it's power down to PS4 levels if standard PS4 games aren't patched for Pro. At least that's what I've been led to believe, we'll know soon enough.
@bbq_boy Several other sites but i'm not going to dwell on that issue as it has been explained. I've switched over to the PS4 mainly due to the exclusives, Japanese games and ease of use.
The Xbox for me had nothing left other than Forza and Gears neither of which i'm that interested in anymore. Their UI is an absolute mess now as well. The other nail in the coffin was the amount of connection issues that i had with their controllers.
@MaccaMUFC @BowTiesAreCool Scorpio is still one year away (maybe), microsoft only got cg motherboard picture of that thing, what's to compare? It's just like microsoft fan want to remind people on playstation site that "hey guys, microsoft has a new console too, please remember".
I'm getting the pro on launch. Today I'm gonna order a samsung ue65ks8000 (for some reason it's called un65ks9000 in the US) that thing has gorgeous picture quality, is beautifully designed and has very lov input lag even when running HDR
so no Bloodborne?
no Dark Souls 3?
I don't care then.
I'm buying this but only because FFXV.
I suppose a 4k tv will have to be next.
@NathanUC The difference between a 5400 RPM drive and 7200 RPM drive, in practice is going to be much less. A considerable amount of a drives time is often spent "moving the needle" to different positions on the platter. There are algorithms to try and optimize this by reprioritizing the data being loaded (so if it needs to load data at A and then at B it tries to see if there is data being requested that is in between those points and gets that on the way), but that movement is not increased on a higher RPM drive. Its still the bottle neck on non-solid-state drives. Large blocks of consecutive data are read much faster, but fragmentation or loading many smaller files, will eliminate a lot of the benefits of the faster drive.
@thedevilsjester Good point, I should have considered that rather than estimating 25%.
Save your money guys. Maybe Sony will put an actual 4k blu-ray drive in there system.
