I'm like a bird,
I'll only fly away.
I don't know where my soul is...
I don't know where my home is...
How many other PlayStation websites are quoting early-noughties Nelly Furtado songs in their Eagle Flight coverage? The answer is zero. (We hope.) Anyway, this Assassin's Creed-themed bird simulator makes a brilliant first impression. It controls great, and the Parisian skyline is genuinely stunning in virtual reality. Very promising.

My first major PSVR game purchase tonight, and wow! I already know that VR is the future of gaming, and not just a stunt like 3DTV was - those who think otherwise really need to see it. Is this iteration of PSVR going to change how everyone games? No, of course not. But give it 5 years and you'll see how popular it will have become.
Back on topic, and on an otherwise depressing news day this game bought a big smile to my face, swooping through the buildings of Paris. My regret is at the moment, I have to concentrate a bit too much on where I'm going to avoid crashing, and miss checking out the roaming elephants and giraffes! Hopefully I'll improve my flying skills over the coming days and be able to let my peripheral vision wander.
Looking forward to trying out the multiplayer, as I suspect this will be a wholly more pleasant experience to the likes of COD!
PS - Kudos to the Furtado nod. Might have that as the soundtrack during my next play through
@professorhat I like the way they let you do that free-roam bit in between missions so you can just soak up the scenery.
Totally the assassins creed vr game everyone wanted
How's everyone doing in terms of motion sickness?
I'll get it, but I'm going to wait, as I bought Robinson. Robinson will be my first physical game since purchasing a PS4! The deal I got at Amazon in the U.S. that made it $22.99 was too good to pass up!
I'm like a turd, I never flush away.....(sorry, but hate that song!!)
Otherwise can't wait to get this, VR really is the business!!
@get2sammyb yes, it's a nice touch, equivalent to driving to the next mission in GTA5 and the like. I often found myself driving around the city for ages before taking on the next mission, and I think the same will be true here as you spot another tunnel through a building that you can't help but swoop through!
@DamienVonOslo it is absolutely fine. They've worked hard on this aspect from what I've read including using a beak on screen to limit it and give you a non moving focal point, plus you get tunnel vision when you speed up, with the outside of the screen fading slightly to black.
@professorhat hey, many thanks for the info, man
Ok, here's the thing.
I really like this game. But, but but but but but (that's a lot of buts, I know)
They force you to endure this garbage "comfort mode" that shrinks field of view in all sorts of scenarios, got so bad it felt like I was viewing the world through the end of a bottle neck.
Hey! Come experience virtual reality! ... through the lens of a telescope.
One teaspoon full at a time, because obviously the user is too stupid to choose what they prefer... because a few noobies get seasick let's cripple the immersion for everybody! Absolutely no choice in the matter!
This game just pisses me off. You can't even free look until you beat the story mode, which is insufferable when having to endure it via tunnel vision and lack of free look in the first place.
Each to their own. I love it!
