Kick, punch, it's all in the mind β or is it? The ever eagle-eyed Gematsu has spotted a new rating for a game called PaRappa the Rapper on the Korean classifications board. The filing was submitted by Sony Interactive Entertainment recently, though a platform frustratingly isn't listed. So what could this possibly mean?
Well, it's worth noting that PlayStation 2 title PaRappa the Rapper 2 is already available on the PlayStation 4 as a PS2 Classic, but this appears to be something different. It could be a sign that PSone games are about to make their arrival on Sony's new-gen system β or it could be a hint at a new title. Alternatively, and perhaps least excitingly, it could be nothing.
The timing has got people hyped, though, with PSX 2016 scheduled to bring some fan flavoured goods to the fore tomorrow. Would you be down for a new PaRappa the Rapper? Believe in the comments section below.

"I GOTTA BELIEVE"!!!
Probably the most over rated game on playstation. Can't quite believe people actually want another one.
@mrobinson91 It's a game about a rapping dog, what more could anyone want?
This is a genre really lacking on PS4 so many FPS games it would be nice to see the rapping dog back again. In the words of the great man "yes we can" bring it on Sony make our Christmas shine.
I like the Parappa games, heck I love Um Jammer Lammy.
If they make another game, hopefully they won't screw it up.
@ZurapiiYohane64 Crash (who I'm glad is returning) & Spyro depend on Activision not Sony they own them both
I'd love to see PaRappa back personally
This reminds me, there are also rumors of a new Wipeout game in developement for the PS4, and it might be shown at PSX but I have doubts (a new Wipeout game or a re-release of Wipeout HD would be cool though).
Bring on the the t shirt Layden (or sock pupet)
Don't get me wrong, I LOVED this series as a weeun, but I'm not entirely sure there is a market for it anymore, then again, maybe that's because so few titles like this are out and the market will emerge once we get some freshness in.
I would be in if there is a new one.
Quirky rhythm games like this and Rhythm Heaven have a market, just not that big.
@DLB3 I think there'd be a market for it as a cool PSN game, for sure.
@get2sammyb exactly. Sorta mid-tier, maybe some sort of physical release but not $60, maybe, MAYBE $40, but I'd go lower, and it'd be great.
I wonder, who'd make it though? Most first parties seem to have revealed their hand, not that they'd make something smaller like this anyway. Maybe some branch of Sony Japan? I doubt the Puppeteer dudes are making a sequel to that, maybe they're working on this?
Parappa the rapper has the one of most catchy tunes of all times in the music games genre, I definitly want the first game on ps4, I remember the sequel is not as good though.
@DLB3 I want puppeter remaster on ps4, that game has a lot of hearts. I like the cat companion more than the fairy though, it will be cool if sony remaster the game and give choice between the cat or the fairy for your companion.
I missed out on PaRappa the Rapper growing up,but I did actually get to it last month. Finished it in one sitting and loved every minute of it. I still go back to it when I have a couple of minutes to kill so I'd pick up a new title in a heartbeat.
Really hope this is true.
If PaRappa the Rapper actually makes a return I'm going to continue holding out hope that one day we get a continuation of the Syphon Filter series.
If a new PaRappa gets announced I am going to do a jig. That's my Half Life 3.
@Lolzified Japan Studio could make it. They're huge, and could easily have a small team on it.
