Destiny's The Dawning event goes live later today, offering a slew of new content to get stuck into over the winter holidays. The Sparrow Racing League is back, complete with new tracks, Strikes are getting a new scoring system - which is sticking around even after the event is done, for your information - and there's going to be fresh loot to get your grubby hands on.
The Dawning kicks off at 18:00PM GMT / 13:00PM ET / 10:00AM PT. Hopefully it's able to inject some life into Bungie's shooter, which has undoubtedly felt a little flat ever since players exhausted the game's latest expansion, Rise of Iron.
Will you be boosting back into Destiny today? Check that internet connection in the comments section below.

Recently picked it up for the first time in the Amazon sales for £20! Really enjoying all the content.
Its good that after running through the raid several times somethinh new is coming.
Not interested in SRL myself but will try and get the new Icebreaker. Already 400 on all 3 (XB1) characters - need to start RoI on PS4...
Rise of Iron was pretty whack, I enjoyed the new aesthetic of the iron banner gear and fallen enemies but thats pretty much all, the strikes weren't too bad either.
I'm kinda glad i skipped the latest expansion. There just wasn't enough keeping my friends and i interested in keeping it in our MP rotation. Maybe Destiny 2 will get things right the first time and not require so many expansion packs to keep people interested.
I'm done with it until Destiny 2 or the next big expansion I think
surely there's nobody left that hasn't figured out that bungie is just basically doing nothing but re-mixing the same old same old at this point in the game's lifecycle?. haven't played it since completing the kings fall raid well over a year ago.
That is not true, they do add new things but of course they do recycle a lot too.
At least the Winter Event is free and does add some nice changes.
During the event there are 4 SRL races, 2 new ones.
Some new gift-collection stuff and many changes to strikes etc. which will stay even after the event.
No so bad - I would say
