Elite Dangerous will finally fly to the PlayStation 4 in Q2 2017, developer Frontier Games has announced. The deep space exploration sim – which has been available on the PC and Xbox One for some time now – will take advantage of Sony's system's unique features in a number of ways, including the ability to assign hotkeys to the DualShock 4's touchpad. The controller's gyros will also be employed, and of course there'll be full support for the PS4 Pro.
"We're thrilled to bring Elite Dangerous to the PS4," said Frontier's David Braben. "With a rich multiplayer or single-player space, a true-to-life galaxy including our own entire night sky, real physics, unique ship handling characteristics, and a player-driven narrative that's really heating up. The galaxy has been stable for centuries, but all that is about to change. PS4 players will be joining our galaxy at a very exciting time."

Awesome but what about PSVR support?
@Rudy_Manchego No word, sadly.
Yes! The more freedom in space games, the better.
I've been playing this periodically on the Xbox One and it's great - in a make your own fun kind of way - so I'm really looking forward to getting to play it on my platform of choice.
Also, PSVR support would be a fantastic addition.
Elite provided so many hours of fun during my childhood. I guess the graphics would have improved for this version. happy this is finally arriving will pick it up for sure. It was an exclusive for Xbox/PC if i am thinking right so thats why is taken so long to come to PS4.
Great news! Remember seeing and playing this on my Uncle's BBC computer back in the day... Going to places like Lav, Leesti and Diso at the beginning, and then those blasted Thargoids!
I have been waiting for this to come to the PS4, and PS4 Pro support is even better!
Hyped for this..!
@dryrain It should have arrived last year, but there was a period of exclusivity for PC initially you could only help fund the game through kickstarter or closer to release directly through frontiers website.
The game is awesome, for the majority of players piloting your spaceship for anything between 10-50 hours is an absolute joy. Some of the reports about nothing to do are ridiculous. My PC runs like a Nokia 2210 and ran ED, all the effects are down and it is still fun having so much freedom. It is tough early game, but as you've already played Elite that's a standard they had to keep. Hopefully pro takes ED to the next level.
Woohoo
