Trailers are a massive part of every game's marketing cycle these days, with the very best either queued up for the big conventions or saved until a title's right about ready for release. We figured that we'd compile a list of the ten best PlayStation 4 videos released this year, and just for fun, we've put them in order to boot. But do you agree with these?

#10: Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom (PSX 2016)

That gorgeous Studio Ghibli artstyle was always going to secure a Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom's gorgeous PSX 2016 trailer a place on this list. The fact that it includes some genuinely great looking gameplay is merely the icing on the cake.

#9: Tekken 7 (The Golden Joysticks)

This clip for Tekken 7 packs a real – ahem – punch. Industrial audio and an aggressive noise filter will leave you resisting the urge to toss someone into a volcano once you're done watching this one.

#8: The Last Guardian (E3 2016)

"What's wrong?" the boy asks. "Are your wings broken?" Cue endless blubbing. This atmospheric The Last Guardian trailer really captures the emotional vibe of Fumito Ueda's fantasy tale. Plus, just listen to that audio.

#7: The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine (Launch Trailer)

The luscious locales of Toussaint are juxtaposed by raucous guitars and an aggressive vocal line in this trailer for The Witcher 3's staggering final piece of content, Blood and Wine. Launch trailers don't come much more enticing than this.

#6: Dragon Quest XI (Opening Movie)

After a long hiatus, Dragon Quest is finally plotting its return to PlayStation. And if that sentence alone hasn't got you hyped for grand adventure, then the XI's beautiful opening movie should leave you quivering in anticipation for its 2017 release.

#5: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (Story Trailer)

Are you ready to seek your fortune? We certainly were after watching the story trailer for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. This action-packed 120 second clip shows off several breath-taking moments from the campaign, but also leans in on Drake's dilemma: should he stay or should he go?

#4: Final Fantasy XV (Omen Trailer)

Much like everything connected to Final Fantasy XV, you can practically see the dollars pour off the page while watching this Omen trailer. Just look at those production values. Ridiculous.

#3: The Last of Us: Part II (PSX 2016)

The Last of Us: Part II's debut trailer raises so many questions. Is Joel really alive or an apparition? Why is Ellie so mad? And where the hell did she hear 'Through the Valley'? They're queries that we're going to have to wait a long time to be answered, but at least we know Naughty Dog will be responding in time.

#2: God of War (E3 2016)

That sounds like Kratos… That sounds like Kratos… That is Kratos! God of War's reveal was brilliantly handled by Sony at E3 2016, and the revelation that he now has a child to care for is a masterstroke. This is a series that was in desperate need of a change, and by taking the path of least resistance, Sony Santa Monica looks set to perch this property back on its throne.

#1: Death Stranding (The Game Awards 2016)

The word 'genius' gets thrown around rather recklessly at times, but Hideo Kojima proved that he's a cut-above with this outstandingly directed Death Stranding trailer. The game may still be a way away, but this clip is so outrageously out-there that it's left us clambering for every scrap of information that we can find. Brilliant.
