Gravity Rush: The Animation Bridges the Narrative Gap

Anime short to fill in Kat's story

It won't be long before Kat tumbles back into all our lives in Gravity Rush 2, but Gravity Rush: The Animation is aiming to at least keep Japanese fans occupied until early January. The 20-minute Studio Khara produced anime will premiere on TV Tokyo on 26th January, and promises to bridge the gap between the first and second games.

Now, if that's got you worrying that you're going to miss out on the short film, Sony has said that it will be made available in Western territories – though a distribution method has yet to be announced. Our guess is that it will either be uploaded to PlayStation's official YouTube channel, or made available for free on the PlayStation Store – but we'll have to wait and see.

In Japan, those who purchase first-print copies of the sandbox sequel will get the anime included on the Blu-ray, so that's another option the platform holder may adopt in these parts. Either way, the animation quality's looking good, isn't it? We absolutely can't wait to see what Kat's been up to, so fortunately there's not long to go now.

I like the idea of putting it on the disc for GR2. And if they want to put the first game on there as well I won't complain. Still hoping for it on PS+, or at least a sale around launch. I'd play it on my PS TV but alas. Really don't know why they made PS TV, or why I've kept mine this long, remote play better work.

Animation looks nice. I wonder how live action dialogue will work for the universe instead of comic strips. Also is 26th January a typo?

First FFXV & now this. I hope this doesn't become a trend. Just want the story in the game.
However this might bring more attention to the series, so I'm all for it.

@Fight_Teza_Fight If it's essential to understand the games and you have to pay for it, then that will be stupid. If it's free and you don't need it, then I'm fine with it.

@Fight_Teza_Fight This is different though, gravity rush 2 anime anime only tell short story of what happen in between gr 1 and gr 2, while ff xv king glaive tell a very important story about the reason of noctis journey.

After seeing king glaive I'm confused why the hell square doesn't put this story in the game, king glaive should be the 10 hours gameplay of the game, not a 2 hours movie! I can't imagined playing ff xv without watching king glaive, it's like playing others final fantasy game without seeing the first 10 hours.
