Ninja Theory's fantastical take on mental health issues Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice will now release in 2017, in case you hadn't figured that out already. The ambitious indie experiment, which is being developed without publisher intrusion, has gone through multiple changes since its inception – but despite finding its way of late, will not deploy until next year.
The Cambridge-based developer says that other project cancellations and a collaboration with Epic Games on some unreal motion capture technology have pushed its progress back, but seeing as this is a passion project for the firm, it's not required to hit any real deadlines. We reckon that it's got the basis of something solid here, so hopefully it can take its time and deliver something special.

So very hyped . Hope it lives up to expectations.
This game is never going to get released.
I'm hoping this game will positively alter my opinion on Ninja Theory. It looks ace.
Never thought it was supposed to release this year. I've seen some of the developer diaries and I'm positively pumped.
Delaystation...
Did they purposely remove all hints of color so as not to confuse it with Horizon? I remember thinking this game would be Heavenly Sword 2, but now it looks like Bloodborne 2.
@Constable_What Ninja Theory make great games.
@get2sammyb I'm sorry you feel that way.
@Constable_What
Nah, @get2sammyb is right on this one.
@Gamer83 You know what they say about opinions right? Of course that applies to me to me too I know, but personally do not think they make great or even good games. Their games are flashy pseudo-intellectual tripe with occasional bursts of fun; all style and no substance barely suitable for a pick up in the bargain bin. Of course I've only played Heavenly Sword, Enslaved, and DMC, so I can only have an opinion on those. They all looked good except DMC (DMC played a bit better than it initially looked), but they were all bogged down by clumsy controls, repetitive gameplay, and really boring stories. I don't understand their obsession with making character driven stories with either very unlikable or very cliche character archetypes. <-------opinion.
That being said the games are really flashy and have a unique cinematic flair. I find those aspects of their games very enjoyable. Enjoyable enough for me to finish them. But saying they make great games as an objective statement is just false in the truest sense of the word. <------- Another opinion
Here is a fact about Ninja Theory. An actual fact.
They make games that a lot of people care about. That's a good thing. And while we are on the subject of facts here is another one: people have opinions.
My opinion is I think they really suck, but I still want an open mind and will give Hellblade, a game I have never played but want to play, the benefit of the doubt.
Good day to you.
Looks pretty good, so we have to wait and see.
@rjejr is bloodborne 2 a bad thing? Esp if it has an actual plot you can discern without watching YouTube videos!
Actually I think this is looking like a prime candidate for HDR, with lots of shadows next to bright fire, etc.
