Do you remember RiME? The promising ex-PlayStation 4 exclusive has had a tumultuous development cycle befitting of its evident Team ICO inspirations, disappearing from the face of the Earth before eventually being dropped by Sony. Word on the street was that Tequila Works wasn't making much progress with the project, but here it is, in a brand new trailer.
The puzzle platformer – which isn't even trying to hide its Journey and Fumito Ueda inspirations anymore – is certainly looking as slick as in its original reveal, though we're not entirely convinced by the design of the boy yet. Still, there's some actual gameplay on display here, and the promise of a May 2017 release date. Maybe it will come good after all?

It looks very good, but considering some of the rumours surrounding the development of this, I'm sceptical until I'm playing it myself.
The only other thing I'd say is that its ICO/Journey influences seem a little too brazen here. It's not even trying to hide it anymore.
Well i hope it's good so every platform can enjoy it.
I hope it's good, but can't shake the feeling that something's off. Sony doesn't just drop projects for no reason. Cautiously optimistic I guess.
@get2sammyb Yup, Looks like Zelda:Wind Waker+Ico+The Witness IMO. My hype of it has declined a long time ago, hope its good.
Looks like a huge downgrade to what was shown originally I fear that's why Sony dropped it another developer promising to deliver alot but coming up short. It's going to get destroyed by Zelda, Horizon, Persona 5, possibly Mass effect. It reminds me of abzu a little bit.
@KingSimba I can see The Witness in it for sure!
@SnowstormX I wouldn't say it looks like a huge downgrade. The environments look much the same. Just the main character who looks a bit weird.
@ShogunRok I'm with you there, let's face it, it's took three years for us to see actual gameplay.
Im thinking Its a little too similar to TLG and was going to launch around the time. We will see how these ports on other platforms run but i have my doubts. I probably wont have the time to play it anyway but i still want to.
@get2sammyb Even though it's only a trailer a lot of the stuff from the original trailer is missing fear this might be a much shorter and scaled back game compared to its original concept also textures look washed out and the color of the kid and animations look a bit off. But I hope it's good, but it will be overshadowed I fear by some big hitters.
Will definitely wait for reviews on this one though hope it turns out well.
I'd love to know why Sony dropped it but guess we'll never know the real reason...
@SnowstormX Well, the rumours claim that those original trailers were just CG made to look like gameplay. Apparently they didn't have much to show when Sony dropped it.
Who knows what the truth is, though!
I'm excited for this one.
But I'll still wait for reviews.
@ShogunRok Good point, I actually forgot about that.
Nevertheless I'm glad this game is still happening, it looks great. Though as always, cautious optimism is a good idea.
It's weird though, this game went from one of my most anticipated indie games to something that I'll maybe check out someday. I mean, it looks okay, but still don't understand the whole deal with Sony. Glad to see there's actually a game though and that it's coming relatively soon.
Look good, I'll wait for the reviews before buying it though. Although after playing the last guardian I don't know if I want to play another puzzle game that look similar.
@SkanetWasTaken @Octane That's whats called missing your window of opportunity. Took too long to release after announcement. Now the audience is less interested and have had other great experiences that they will undoubtedly compare it to.
@Utena-mobile I believe they dropped it before No Man's Sky came out so completely unrelated.
@get2sammyb Not to mention this game has never had anywhere near the hype of No Man's Sky.
@get2sammyb From what everyone says, the developer bought the rights back from Sony and someone else is publishing it. ALso, I thought the 2014 trailer looked much worse than this one
@get2sammyb
It's the mullet and headband combo isn't it;)
Love the look of the game though... Lovely light and colour.
