If you prefer breakfast bars to the Nurburgring then Micro Machines: World Series may be right up your alley. The game β not officially announced but still clearly legit β looks to be coming to the PlayStation 4 later this year, but we're going to drop Codemasters a message just to confirm. Word is that it may be a pumped-up version of last year's iOS title, which itself was inspired by PlayStation 3 racer Toybox Turbos.
Assuming that's the case, then you can expect some decent arcade action amid oversized everyday items. Do you have fond memories of the Micro Machines games? Remember that amazing Mega Drive cartridge in the comments section below.

I haven't played the iOS game, but I'll gladly welcome a new Micro Machines
I loved the Micro Machine games. Glad to see that a new one might be on the way.
I heard the ios game was abit naff but will judge this when it arrives. I still have micro machines 2 and micro machines military on my mega drive. O the memories
I had it on the NES and thought it was a blast. I'm hoping this one makes it to modern systems and is just as fun.
Anyone else enjoy the toys when they were younger? I had the gas tank that opened up to form a mountain playset with tunnels. Played with that thing until it fell apart.
Awesome, hopefully they manage to keep the fun factor at very least...
Ah I remember the old J-Cart game for eight players. Was great fun on the Megadrive.. Think Codemasters created that cart for more players. Fond memories of Pete Sampras tennis too.. Sure that was Codies.
@Rob_230 Micro Machines 2 was the pinnacle of Micro Machines games, wish they would re-release it. Never been a fan of the 3D games.
Hopefully this isn't what Evolution was reduced to...
@Gaz that would be amazing. Maybe ita possible now, but I think codies had let the licence expire so couldn't use the name. Maybe its possible now? Micro maniacs on ps one was poor?agree the 3d ones were just not the same
I only remember the ps1 version which I still have. Used to have great fun with my mates, 8 player split screen with auto accelerate. Not sure now I'm older that I could get that many friends together at the same time to play. I'll keep an eye out but also bare in mind I'd mainly be playing solo.
Micro machines was my most played game on my Megadrive back in the day so would definitely be picking this up!
Micro machines have always been pants.
Tonka and matchbox are what the cool kids play. #olderskool
@dkxcalibur I use to have a ton of them when I was a kid. I always remember the scene in Home Alone too where he puts the Micro Machines on the floor as a trap.
@Wazeddie22 I remember that version mainly for having the 4 player adapter built into the cartridge.
@Tasuki Exactly!yeah that's the one.Thought that was so clever and cool at the time.Spent loads of time playing matches with friends.Ahh those were the days..when I had friends lol
The ios game completely passed me by, did anyone actually play it?
I remember those tank races in the first game. You'd blow up your mate's tank and they would respawn at the perfect distance to retaliate immediately. God, those races could go on for hours, happy times.
Micromachines + photorealistic graphics + tracks editor = 10/10
Fun Fun and ........more Fun heads up codies
Micro Machines is back! for the first time in ten years!
I hope for Micro Machines, Micro Machines 2 & Micro Machines Military this year.
Micro Machines V3 was my very first racing game.
