Capcom's finally kicked Resident Evil 7's marketing machine into life, with this officially licensed "4D" candle designed to bring you closer to the game. The silly £14.99/$19.99 smelly is said to carry the scent of "old timber and blood", and is designed to increase your immersion when you play the latest title with PlayStation VR. Honestly, just be wary if you're leaving a naked flame lit while immersing yourself in virtual reality.
"The 4D candle is 100 per cent officially licensed Resident Evil merchandise; this means Capcom have smelt the candle and found it scary to enough to give their seal of approval," explained retailer Merchoid, no doubt while flashing a wry smile. "Be careful though, with an experience this horrifying, the candle might not be the only smell you notice in the room..."

This seems like a really ill-conceived product. VR combined with lit candles is right up there with the controller that drew blood (Blood Sport) as things that don't mix well with gaming.

Well my house already smells of old timber and blood so I won't be needing this.
To be honest, if I do play this in VR, I will need some sort of scent to cover up the consistent bodily emissions I'll be making. Plus a new set of pants.
