Toukiden 2 is setting itself up to be a pretty interesting sequel, boasting much more open environments and a whole cast of new characters to interact with. The action role-playing title released in Japan last year, and as far as we're aware, it was well received. Of course, the first game and its enhanced re-release Toukiden: Kiwami were solid monster-hunting games to begin with, so we've got high hopes for this one. We've embedded the latest English trailer above.
Publisher Koei Tecmo has announced that Toukiden 2 will be launching on the 21st March in North America, and the 24th March in Europe. Like its predecessor, it'll be available on both PlayStation 4 and Vita. There's no mention of it being digital only on Sony's handheld, so we assume it'll be getting a retail release on both platforms.

"Games, games everywhere!"
Resi, NiOh, Toukiden, Horizon + all the 2016 games I still have to play... 2017 is gonna be funny!
Coming out the same day as Mass Effect Andromeda? Good luck with that.
@andreoni79 I feel your pain! Playing DAI, then FFX10 Remaster, want to finish the DLC for Witcher3, and GOW3!
I almost forgot about this one, definitely will be picking this up, loved Toukiden: Kiwami and poured most hours into it out of any game last year.
The Japanese developers are really spoiling us early this year. I hope some of these do well enough to continue to make it worth the time and effort. I look at sales for games like Call of Duty, Battlefield, etc and just shake my head in disgust at the fact that something as brilliant as Yakuza or Gravity Rush can't find a really strong audience as well. I know why they don't do as well as those FPS but they should be able to get at least 2 mil or 3 mil sales with the userbase on PS4. Toukiden I wouldn't say is cream of the crop, but like God Eater it's a nice alternative to Monster Hunter and it'd be good to see PlayStation fans worldwide get behind it.
Oh come on...there's too many games in my backlog, more in stores at the moment that I'd love to play, and I'm seeing a bunch coming soon!!!! There's too many!!! This game looks really fun, what system did the first one come out on??? Was it on PS3?
Is this something similar to Monster Hunter? If it is, is it as good as Monster Hunter?
@JLPick First Toukiden came out on Vita here in the West. Toukiden Kiwami, which is basically a re-release with extra stuff and an expanded story, came out on Vita and PS4.
@F-racsO I'm not a massive Monster Hunter fan, but I really like Toukiden. It's got more of an emphasis on story, but hunting demons and using their body parts to craft better equipment is still a big part of the game.
Could give my Toukiden: Kiwami review a read if you want to know more about gameplay and stuff: https://www.pushsquare.com/reviews/ps4/toukiden_kiwami
@ShogunRok I'll definitely give it a read. I've been looking for something to scratch that Monster Hunter itch. Thanks!
My question is: Is Toukiden 1 worth getting for 12 euros in the PS Store sale?
@AFCC I'd go for Toukiden: Kiwami over the standard Toukiden if you can - adds a heck of a lot in terms of story.
@ShogunRok Isn't that the one that's on sale? I'm tempted since I like MH and those genre of games...I loved Soul Sacrifice too!
@AFCC If it's Kiwami then yeah, I think it's well worth it at that price, especially if you like the whole monster hunting style of RPG.
I will buy this. Toudiken on vita was already very good.
