Sony's revealed February's PlayStation Plus line up at the last possible minute - but at least it's finally here, eh? This month's selection is lead by the two PlayStation 4 titles that were leaked earlier today: LittleBigPlanet 3 and Not a Hero. The former is obviously a retail title, but will it be enough to put an end to the usual complaints? We'll soon find out.
Elsewhere, Starwhal: Just the Tip skewers a place on PS4 and PS3, while Ninja Senki DX and TorqueL head to PS4 and Vita. PS3 also gets Anna - Extended Edition, and no, we're not exactly sure what that is either.
What do you make of February's offering, then? Feed us your thoughts in the comments section below.

Happy with LBP3. Always tempted to buy this in a sale but glad I held out. Not sure about the rest.
BTW the most fun you'll have with Ninja Senki DX will be reading the mad-as-a-badger review that was posted on this very site, then seeing the chaos that unfolded in the comments board thereafter.
Edit: Oh man! Just checked and it's been removed. That's a shame.
Very happy with LBP3, and will definitely give Not a Hero and Starwhal a try too. Good month!
@RawShark haha I remember that review well!
LBP3 is a good game, shame I already have it. Looking forward to Not a Hero and the Vita offerings (for once)
Kewl - LBP3 will be a good one for the kids (OK, I mean me). No idea on what the other games are!
Its an 8 Bit Indie Extravaganza! Im sure everyone will be thrilled..
Looking forward to LBP3 though, always hovered over buying it in sales
Loved the OlliOlli games so happy to give not a hero a shot. I've yet to pay for a LBP game 😂 but I'll be sure to check it out.
Nice, not a hero looks decent. Although for me this is one of those months were the backlogs getting hit.
@Mergatro1d @RawShark Nope, you can still read it in all of its infamous glory: https://www.pushsquare.com/reviews/psvita/ninja_senki_dx
@get2sammyb There it is! It must have been hiding... like a decrepit schoolgirl gallivanting her way to her first tax return.
Couldn't care less about LBP but Not a Hero looks pretty sweet!
Eh, it's decent. Might as well give LittleBigPlanet 3 a go at least.
Not a fan of LBP3, but it's a decent offering. Nothing here to incentivize re-subscribing, though.
I'm looking forward to give LBP a go. Maybe I'll be able to play it with my son. He's just 4 but he's starting to get interested in video games. Probably because he sees me play almost every day.
@get2sammyb that was brilliant. Captain thesaurus really didn't do himself any favours there. Hopefully he's learned his lesson!
Looking forward to lbp, as I didn't get around to it on ps3. The others are fine and am particularly looking forward to trying not a hero. As usual the line up is not good enough for those on the psblog I see..
Finaly LBP3 <3 let's go for it
I wanted to buy it mysefl thank's sony , after 3 years gived us a good game for ps plus
The last good plus thing i played was infamous first light and tomb raider
Let's see what they want to give us on ps3
Not familiar with the rest (Anna's store description at least suggests a familiar horror/adventure mix, not that I can play this game - now Starwhal I really have yet to figure out at the moment), but LBP3 is a sweet surprise! The series looks elaborate and quirky in the videos, and even Run Sackboy Run has left me charmed enough - it may seem like just three locations with increasing difficulty, but these locations were so imaginative! I even unlocked some costumes for LBP3 (except for the bird's which just won't go past "claim reward" button; maybe I should try that "back up save - delete game - reinstall" kind of PlayStation duct tape); now LBP3 itself will be landing on my PS4 with all its fancy platforming, couch co-op (I often play with my friend, so it's a welcome feature), level editor and whatnot.
Dear god I just went back in time and read the original review and comments section.
That sh!t got real in a hurry lol and that conclusion to the review was bonkers haha
Great month
Any month I don't already own any is a big plus! It'll do me!
I'm glad we got a triple A title but...I already own it xD My gf loves LBP so I had it for quite some time on a sale...
I'm interested in Not a Hero and Starwhal! The rest just seems plain bad to be honest...
Look son, a retail AAA game...
@get2sammyb seeing Ninja Senki at a 3/10 looks bad I'll give it crack though, wasn't there once a rule that all Plus games had to have a 6/10 or better review score to be eligible to be included?
@RawShark
@get2sammyb you're too kind. Had a right laugh reading all that again 😂
We have LBP on PS3 but I could never get past that part where you fall in the hole but there is no rewind button. It was a known game killing flaw they never fixed. Also could never create ANYTHING b/c the Pop-it button didn't work, another known game breaking flaw they never fixed.
So it would be great if this one actually works. Does any of our PS3 stuff carry over? I'm really attached to my Gonzo costume.
I'm remember Narwhal on Wii U, not sure if it ever released b/c you know, Wii U, so I'll look into that one as well.
@Mergatro1d It makes me cringe. Should never have been published, but the Internet never forgets.
@get2sammyb Hmmm....not the greatest selection for PS3. Also not fond that one of the offerings is something I can already play on Wii U...
Fortunately I appear to be in the minority here, but this month looks to be a snoozefest. I already grabbed LBP3 on sale ages ago and played for a few hours before realizing I still prefer the first game.
The rest of the titles don't appeal to me at all. :/
That Anna game is kind of a creepy puzzle solving walking simulator type game. It's not terrible but it's far from good. Graphics were okay for the time, though I played it on a Mac, not PS3, so who knows. You'll be able to kill a few hours with the title.
Serioulsy i was hoping for gravity rush 😢 and a cool indie, i wont play those indies and LBP isnt my cup of tea, well at least my nefews will like
Not a good month for me, as I already own LBP digitally. At least it is a step in the right direction! Don't know much about these indies, but I'll give them a try eventually. Just played through Broken Age which was on plus a long time ago but really enjoyed it.
Just read the review and comments of Ninja Senki. Wow, just wow.
Probably pick up LBP3. Might be fun with my kids
@RawShark That sounds like one of the lines they cut from the Mighty No. 9 commercial
already had LB3 & deleted it the rest just dont do it for me
@get2sammyb whilst I'm sure everyone agrees that the review wasn't the best, it was the meltdown in the comments that made it so memorable. Poor guy. Goes to show you need a thick skin on the internet- I certainly don't envy you guys sometimes.
Not bad. I have LBP 3 already, but the indie games are all ones I've had my eye on. Starwharl especially.
@RawShark @get2sammyb haha cant believe that was a year ago. Sony must realise its the anniversary to the craziest review comments section ever! (until you reviewed asseto corsa without a steering wheel.)
OK month for me. I was intrested in Ninja Senki DX ages ago, but I turned away after THAT review. I'll give it a go now. Really liked the art.
As for LBP3, I already own a retail copy. I guess I could always trade in my copy. Use the credit towards Yakuza 0 or Nioh, hmmm....
Another month that I have not already got one game from the list so doing really well there none of them look anything special but I'll try all of them at some point like I always do.
Too many games to play already to be bothered whether the ps plus games are going to be any good so happy with whatever.
Already have LBP3 and I don't see anything else I like.
@Punished_Boss_84 I have a few more of those in my list......
The only games I'm not okay with the lineup is Ana Extended edition and Torquel (mediocre at best). They could have easily replaced those with some other actual great indie games like The Assembly, La Mulana Ex or even Thomas was Alone. I'm worried that this could mean that Sony will most likely add more bad/mediocre games on PS Plus (I'll have anything that's atleast NOT Umbrella Corps, Solbrein, Wander or Calvino Noir).
Anyway, I'm interested on playing LBP3, Starwhal and Not A Hero (really like the idea of playing as anti-heroes). Ninja Senki Dx, probably. The game seems to be average on the PS4 but was slightly more favorable on PC, so I'll check out soon once released.
@SoulsBourne128 Thomas was alone has been on plus already mate.
@THRILLHOU Really? I guess I missed out on it. Still, if Sony really want to give us more indie games, then they better be good like Mulana Ex and Assembly that I previosly mentioned. I mean, God forbid them if they actually have the balls to add Skylight Freerange 2 or Life of Black Tiger on PS Plus.
Never tried LBP so if not gigantic I may try it. I never play the "free" games anyway. I have better titles to sink my time into.
Well at least people can stop saying we PSN doesn't get any AAA games.
@GlynCR it's still in the critiria. The metacritic critic score needs to be atleast 70/100. But they've ignored it a lot of times the last 2 years.
@Chris1975 I read it for the first time as well. Crazy hahaha
I might give LBP3 a go!
I never got LBP3 mainly because it wasn't made by MM, but i'll definitely give it a go. I remember when thay first made LBP and seeing some of its game play for the first time, it was a brilliant game and many have copied it since. The art style of the game was brilliant too, you can see where Nintendo got the idea for one of there games. That being said really looking forwards to Dreams, i'l probably have a look at the indies too.
LBP3, nice
Fair enough, not a big fan of LBP but will give it a whirl. As for not a hero, I've nearly bought this several times in the past, glad I held off!
@SoulsBourne128 haha I can't see Sony doing that. There's been enough outcry about Life of Black Tiger alone.
Thomas was alone was on there a few years back. It's very good, if it's going cheap on sale I'd recommend it.
I was hoping Salt and Sanctuary may end up on Plus one day, as it could do with a boost to the player Base. If you're a Souls fan and haven't played it, it is certainly a good shout. It's just a shame it released so close to DS3. If it had come out more recently I'm sure it would have been bigger.
Awesome! Have wanted LBP3 for a long time. Starwhal is a lot of fun too!
For me, all of the PS4 games look at least worth trying.
@get2sammyb You're wrong. jk couldn't resist.
Is that the sound of a barrel being scraped? I do think Sony will need to revise psplus within the next few months as I don't know if providing titles across 3 formats can be effective anymore. Perhaps with the start of a new financial year coming up in April they will make some changes.
This is a pretty decent month really, fair bit of variety, don't think they will top rocket league though still hooked to that
This isn't the first month we got a AAA game though does nobody remember getting injustice?
I liked going back to the review of Ninja DX xD wht a festival it was!
Anyway, is Starwhal multiplayer only??
An entire game that isn't terrible the absolute madmen at sony.
yay Little Big Planet 3 finally a AAA release
@Flaming_Kaiser
A retail game? Memes? Or Sons?
I'm not too sure what your list entails, there's only one right answer...
Quite happy with LBP3. Can't say I've ever played a Little Big Planet game but look forward to giving it a whirl for free! Guess I'll see what the hype is about, but obviously not expecting anything amazing. Sounds like a fun game when I get around to it, however with For Honor round the corner and me just getting back into ESO and Battlefield 1 and Fifa keeping me occupied it may just end up like all the other PS Plus games.😂
Well, already own and beat Little Big Planet 3, so hopefully people can have more fun creating levels at least...something to do with it...other than that, I hope they make a part 4 eventually, because part 3 was really short on the story compared to the previous 2, but glad that they added a AAA game...still surprised they didn't add Knack yet, especially since they announced a sequel for it, unless they're waiting closer to the sequel's release date to do it. Still though, does anyone know when the Parappa the Rapper or Loco Roco remasters are coming...every time I look, it states 2017, but I'd love to play some Loco Roco on the PS4!!!!
@get2sammyb Thanks for linking that review, I'm pretty new here and missed it last year. If you can say nothing else good about Ninja Senki DX you can at least say it entertained with its reviews. Jameswallace comments had me chuckling away.
On topic - forward to Not a Hero
@hi_drnick Financial years start all over in April?
I can't say I am 'excited' by the offerings - but its better than last month. I wasn't a fan of LBP on the PS3, I bought it for my young son and wouldn't buy 2 or 3 but may download 3 just because its free - which is more than I can say about last months games.
I don't want to get into an argument over Gold vs PS+, IGC vs GwG etc but from my perspective, GwG is offering more. IGN compares the two and so far this year (its only 2 months old mind), GwG has offered 'more' in terms of 'retail value' despite offering 2 less games. It may only be $2-5 more of course and that doesn't really matter if the games are not ones you want or already have. I am looking forward to Project Cars a lot more than LBP3 and Star Wars: the Force Unleashed too (although I already own the disc) but to have that on XB1 is cool.
Of course others may prefer LBP and the other offerings on IGC but as someone with both Gold and PS+, I look forward to GwG and often disappointed by IGC. This month at least there is 'soething' I may download - the first time in months - which is at least a 'bonus' from my perspective.
Honest answer; it's an average month in a sea of below average months. In fairness, I play a lot of online games, and grab the occasional free game from PS+, so not complaining.
Couldnt care less about this selection.
Underwhelming for me personally. But what is it with Asia PS Plus though? They get LBP3 + Until Dawn + GoW3 Remastered?! Is it with the smaller sub base it doesn't cost them as much to do? Or the games just aren't selling in the region so it costs less for Sony to do a deal?
@Abulnoor for most Japanese companies, yes. Sony included.
So I just went and read that old review everyones talking about and said comments.
Woah!
I mean sure, it shouldve been a bit more clear the end, my point being James had to explain what he meant by his closing comments, which is a clear indication he, at the time, didnt know his audience.
Society only moves as fast as its slowest member, and whereas some folks may have understood the jokes, many clearly did not.
All a learning curve though right!
Anyway thats in the past, as for these offerings, Im not personally a huge LBP fan, but its a but of a difference in whats commonly offered which is a positive for me.
The others not my thing at all, and as I found less than no enjoyment in OlliOlli, Im assuming I wont in this "Not A Hero" game.
Needless to say its a diverse month, which is a positive step in my opinion.
Going to have fun with little big planet, and I'm not a big horror game fan but I'll try this one and all the others, this is going to be a good month for us plus members
It is disheartening to hear suggestions to drop a platform in PS+ in order for Sony "...to focus on the PS4."
.:.
1) There remains a large user base of the other systems paying for the PS+ Membership. Why alienate PS3, PS-Vita and PSP owners who signed up to PS+ expecting continued support of their platform on the service.
.:.
2) PS4 owners tend to benefit from the additional platforms when Cross-Buy Titles which include the PS4. True these rarely are AAA games, but there tend to be gems among the Indies titles. Thankfully, they rarely are at the PS MINI level of games.
.:.
3) The message sent by removing the PS3 or PS-Vita is that Sony is pulling support for that platform. Not only will this cause friction with owners of those systems, it sets precedent on the length of time owners may expect from Sony. It may even start the end of support for these systems on the PlayStation Store and set a time length for pulling support of PS4. There are few who believe Sony just provides too much support for their hardware and/or for too long. Neither are there many saying Sony support improved when support ended or was reduced elsewhere.
.:.
4) What is expected to replace these offerings? There does no seem to be enough PS-VR Titles to provide two games monthly that are considered decent offerings. Is it better getting two games monthly just for PS4 & PS-VR? Will the quality of offerings truly improve enough to match the Cross-Buy offerings lost?
.:.
I own each platform still supported on the PlayStation Store except for the PS-VR, PS4-PRO and PS3-3D. The PS3 and PSP systems are primarily for my kids entertainment. They still enjoy the PS-Move and WonderBook. PS+ games which allow Ad Hoc Co-op with PSP are very appreciated as it works between my PS-Vita & their PSPs. PS+ Games for the PS-Vita are my focus as my disability makes that system my primary. The PS4 is a part of our entertainment but it has not replaced our older PlayStation platforms.
.:.
So, I prefer calls for change to be for improving PS+ offerings instead. Sony's history does NOT support that pulling support will improve or increase their focus on PS4 offerings.
